*That is the stabilizer, yes??*
Car: 1998 Seville STS

I noticed that my car was feeling funny the other day pulling out of my apartment complex. Only on a left turn from a dead stop. Felt like the wheel was slipping. I thought it was possible some water I ran through. But, it did it everyday since then. So, today I get out of my car and turn my wheel to look at the suspension.

Here's the Passenger side. (looks ok, right?)

Is this gonna be hard to fix?? And, why now when I just get my N2O kit?!?!

No, they aren't hard to replace. Just jack the car up, unbolt the mount for it and replace it. You might want to look into poly bushings for better handling.

HA, 110 bucks! No, go to like auto zone and get some energy suspension poly bushings for like 16 bucks and jack up the car and change them yourself. Its not hard. Its harder to change them on my car and it only took me like 15mins to change bushings and end-links for the sway bar, both energy suspension parts, spent like 35 bucks total. Just make sure you get the right size.

I went to AutoZone. They say they don't carry the bushings. NAPA only carries the whole link kit which will cost like $60.

On the second picture, the one with the bad looking bushing, it looks to me like I see an area where the inside of a tire may be rubbing on the stabilizer???? And in a direction that could have caused the bushing problem.

You got oversized tires and/or non-stock wheels on this thing?

I have stock wheels and 235/60R16 Tires. Are these the stock size tires??

I don't know.

Look on your driver's door edge or door frame.

All cars have the 'stock' tire size and air pressure on a tag there.

might have been discount then. It was like 5 months ago. If you asked for ones just for your car they might not have them, but i've seen some on the shelf that are the exact same as yours.

Cool, is there a part number you could hook me up with?

Does anyone have any pictures of the polyurethane bushings in a 90-93 Deville?

Anyone do any swaps to the rear bar bushings?

Which ones fit the front? How big is the front bar?

If I can find a larger bar, how hard is to change?

The 91 Bonneville SSE had a large bar, and a larger rear bar with a shorter lever. My 91 LE Bonneville retained the smaller FE1 front bar, but got an upgrade with a larger SE/SSE rear bar. And then coupled with 0.5 degrees negative camber and MAXed out caster handles flat out great. I could burn through corners the Cadillac only dreams of.

Thanks!

i read that poly bushings make more noise too.. and a slightly harshier ride, due to the rubber suppressing and compressing the best, but they have some black ones with graphite in them to reduce squeeking.. poly lasts much longer than rubber though, poly is much cheaper too. poly want a cracker?

If I remember correctly, Poly Bushing squeak if they are not lubercated properly when you install them.

i go home on saturday, i can get you a part number sunday i think. And the front bar on a 90-93 is 3/4s. But its not a direct swap. I've got some ideas for the rear bar, but it will have to wait till i get home. It shouldnt be hard to change the bar.

I will see if I can take a picture of the 91 Bonneville and the 91 Cadillac DeVille rear suspension and we can compare notes on it. The Bonneville rear bar will handle better with the shorter lever (effectively stiffens the bar).

But I don't know if the mounts will work on a DeVille.
