read article about engine vacuum and braking. says with foot floored on gas results in low engine vacuum so power brakes will not work well. they did experiment with 1 foot on gas and other on brake and car did not want to stop. of course in real world you would not try that but if computer is holding throttle open and your foot is on brake, you are in the same situation.

intresting. i thought engne vacuum for the use of brakeing purposes was gone a long time ago.

No, they still have a vacuum booster on the firewall and there should be an accumulator to hold vacuum when the engine is not supplying it as in WOT.

why do you need brakes during WOT? the arguement seems to be leaning towards the computer holding the throttle open while the brake is being applied. they say to not pump the brakes since you will loose your vacuum reserve. ya, try remembering that as your car is accelerating out of control.
