Ok, so like a lot of you my struts were bad so I purchased a set of struts and shocks for my 94 STS from Arnott. Friendly people and quick service. So now the drama. After I installed the struts (and upper bearings) and got it aligned I had a cluncking noise coming from the suspension. So I went through and replaced everything I could think of. Sway bar bushings, sway bar links (front and rear) and multiple trips on the hoist. I couldn't figure it out. Of course I was still getting the "service ride control" on the dash. The thumping was getting soooo anoying!! :banghead: So I put the car on the hoist and noticed fluid running down the back of both front struts. :hmm:

So I called Arnott, they told me to take the old one off and ship it to them and have the car torn apart for a week while they tell me if the strut was bad. So I bit the bullet and paid $150 for a new one (which they will credit me if the old one is bad).

Anyway I pulled the old one out and I have never seen a strut so BAD!! I could move the shaft without any resistance. Remember I have not had the struts but a month. I just sent the old one back to Arnott and will see what they tell me. They are suppose to be lifetime warranty struts so I hope they keep their word.

Just wanted to give people my experience so far. I will bash Arnott if they don't come through or I will praise them if they are extremely helpful. Just have to wait and see......

Hi:

Sorry to hear about your dealing with Arnott, Now I am really glad I bought mine from Boston Suspension their kits are the only ones that are made by either Gabriel or Monroe. That is the reason I went with them, Arnott makes their own!! How good can that be..... I think you just found out.... and the Service ride control message was still there.... I would send back the whole thing to them if I was you. I do not get the Service ride message with the Boston Suspension Kit that is the truth I have 2 cars with their kits on and I don't work for them either.

In all fairness to Arnott, I think they use gabriel on the front and make thier own rear. So I could have just gotten a lemon, it happens. When I put the new one on the front the service ride control message went away. So it goes to show the strut was bad and the car told me that the whole time but I ignored it.
