Des Moines was fun in '07, and centrally located, but the Davenport '08 meet was good too, because it wasn't too far from that drag strip in Illinois, but I'd like to have you all up to the Twin Cities...show you our neck of the woods!

Whaddya say? We should get the ball rolling ASAP! I'm more than happy to help plan, especially if it's up here!

I'd come to Minneapolis, but I'd fly since I don't want to put another 5,000 miles on the Seville and eat up all of my vacation time (not to say I wouldn't drive to a meet in the future). Des Moines would be fine, too. In that case, I'd probably still fly to MSP and drive down with Chad. Airfares to smaller cities like Des Moines tend to be way higher than major hubs.

Of course, if any of you guys get out to the Pacific Northwest, you're always welcome.

Hey, hitting close to below the belt there! It's Caseyville you need to worry about. And most the strip clubs are in Brooklyn anyway.

I'd love to help host a meet in St Louis. Maybe we could actually entice some other midwesterners to show up, say from KC, Memphis, and Indy? St Louis is a major hub for the airlines also, and with Jesda's Priceline prowess we could probably get something right downtown and walk to all the attractions.

It's so weird how different northern and southern MN are. In the north, you've got the great north woods, the mines, the lakes and the rustic "get away from it all" feel. In the south, you've got the farmlands, open prairies, flatlands and lots of rivers.

There are two different areas that have car shows/cruises every friday night around here. One is Porky's....we couldn't all fit in there, but we could all park somewhere else and cruise around down there. Or we could all go down to North St. Paul for their weekly pre 1975 car show. They block off three blocks of their main road for the cars.

The last 2 summers I'd drive to Chicago in about 15 hours, with a straight overnight, immediately after a full Friday of work. It's what I would've done for the August meet if I hadn't cracked up the V on one of those trips 2 weeks earlier...

So what do you guys wanna do up here in Minneapolis? If you guys are interested, there's a pretty sweet car museum about an hour northwest of Downtown Minneapolis. I've been there before and they've usually got about 60 cars there, from 1915-1970's. Usually a few Cadillacs and Lincolns too, and they've got a gift shop with a very extensive book & memorabilia collection.

Alright first things first, early summer or late summer?

Back To The Fifties is June 18-20. It's an awesome show, but be aware, it's HUGE-----> Last year there were 11,000 cars, so it's very easy to get lost. Especially if PJ's Auto Literature is there. :D :D It's literally one of the largest car shows in the country, yearly. And all the cars here are older than 1965, but they've got a pretty killer auction with cars from all backrounds and ages.
http://www.msra.com/

Carcraft Summer Nationals is July 16-20. I like the cars here a lot more than back to the fifties, but there's maybe only 2-3,000. Still, a lot to see.
http://www.carcraft.com/index.html

And all summer long, we've got weekly cruise ins in St-Paul. Porky's on both nights (more juvenile d-bags there in ricers and Mustangs/F-Bodies) and North St Paul on Friday nights (much more mature crowd, and all cars are older than 1975).

Let me know, I'm down for anything. BTTF would be a blast, but it'd be hard to keep everyone together all day.
