: All American Day (Adelaide, Australia) Pics

02-21-10, 06:58 PM
G'day one and all.

Went out for a bit of a run on the bike yesterday and it took me to Valley View for the 2010 All American Day Car Show put on by the American GM Drivers Club.

Choice weather saw many fine cars including a strong contingent from the Cadillac La Salle Club of South Australia take to the roads and converge at Valley View.

I put my shots into a slideshow so they are easier to load.

So click the pic and check 'em out...

Hope there's something amongst them you like.

That is a BEAUTIFUL Eldo Brougham. There's a local guy by me with one that is a true survivor. Its not in the best of shape but its also unrestored.

Awesome pics! I'm pretty sure I saw a Dodge Nitro in the background of one of them though... that almost made me cry. lol

Thanks for sharing the photos from the show. I enjoyed seeing so many American cars involved in the hobby in Australia.

What is with the top half of the headlight bulbs being mirrored on several of the cars. Is that a personal choice or some kind of legal requirement?

Beautiful cars! I forget it's still Summer down under.

That's an Eldorado. :)

02-22-10, 02:06 AM
That is no Eldo. That is a Lincoln Mark.

02-22-10, 02:24 AM
Yeh it's a Lincoln.

Both it and the one next to it are fitted out with hand controls.

I know the owner of the black car is wheelchair bound....I see car and owner at various shows I attend..

Don't know if the same guy has purchased the other car and had it converted or whether it belongs to someone else.

I didn't see the owner(s) to ask.

The top halves of the headlights...?

Just a trim piece and just cause they look cool....not a legal requirement.

Dude woah, I'm blind as hell.

That totally said "Eldorado" to me.

I'm going to sleep. LOL

That is no Eldo. That is a Lincoln Mark.

Mark III, to be exact.

That Grand Prix had all the right `60s Pontiac styling cues. Muscular without being overdone, and chrome in all of the right places. Nice and intimidating.
