A couple weeks ago I recharged a almost new battery, it sat for like 2 months in a car that was broke down. I got new terminals for my battery cables, made sure that they were very tight on the posts. The car started right up, and it kept charge for about 5 days. I didn't start the car every day so it drained all the way again! I'm thinking my starter might be the culprit, because when I go to start my car it turns over really slow, and slowly starts to gain speed before it'll start. What would you'll think? Thank you for the help.

It sounds like you've got a weak starter or something, but I doubt the starter is killing the battery. I have seen alternators with an internal short do that though. You could try unhooking the wire from the back and see if it helps.

same thing happened to me. i was able to hit the starter with a hammer one time to get it started. and it worked again 2 weeks later. but 3rd time was no such luck...
i also had the "slow-motion start up" as i like to call it. i bought a brand new alternator for $139 and was able to switch it out with my fathers help. total time chasing down a new alternator for cheap money and switching bad for good was around 3 hours. just a couple of mounting bolts, a wiring harness and a couple o-ring connections. not sure what car you have but on my 1990 deville i also had to remove the top middle tensioner pulley cuz it was right up against one of the mounting bolts.
however i think my starter is also on the way out as well, but the alternator was a DIY job for me so i did that first and solved my problem.
