Sorry if that's redundant but coming from the Deville area I had no idea that happened.

I heard it was for2010.
Those of us now driving models 06 thru 09 are now driving collector's items.
I just got mine in January, an 08 with only 3,950 original miles loaded to the gills.
His name is Little Gus, Big Gus is my 98 De Ville Concours with 90,000 miles ( he doesn't like it when I call him Decrepit Gus, gets cranky and starts talking back to me ).
My 2 Guses Rock, love them both, we get along great, that's the beauty of Cads, the longer you own them, the better you get along with them, you develop a family relationship with them.
Cads Rock.

Yup. No 2010 STS-V.

You can get an STS Sport, which comes with the big Brembo brakes and 6 lug wheels . . . not sure of the other performance anhancements . . .

That's a drag. Not that I can afford one but it's still a drag to see it go.

Anyone know why?

I am sure it was an easy decision for GM management with the US government focus on fuel efficient cars (global warming and greeen jobs) , GM in bankruptcy and the Obama administration bail out pressure. The high gas prices also drove down the demand, based on compnine.com there were only 96 STS Vs produced in the 2009 model year.

Build by Year

STS V

2009 96
2008 459
2007 642
2006 1,306

Total 2,503

That is fantastic stuff!!! Now I know there were 741 in 2006 that were black and 786 that had the black on black interior. Thanks for the great link!

Both the STS-V and XLR-V were sold in such low numbers that there was really no reason to continue the lines. On top of that when GM was running out of cash and looking for cost cutting measures they were easy decisions to make.

So now the question is when will the value of our cars go up instead of down? Every year is rare, and 2008/09 is crazy rare. Wishful thinking anyway. Mine is priceless anyway....

Info on my ride:

1 of 642 made and there are 3 2007 STS V 4 DR vehicles (0.467%) matching your exact options list. There are 3 (0.467%) with at least as many options.

wow, thats rare!

When you uncheck your production week it adds more vehicles to the rarity part. I figured that was the case. Mine was 12 then I unchecked:

B0K VEHICLE GM PROD WEEK 28 GM VEH PROD WEEK 28(B0K)

It now says 15.

Like most cars, if you plan on holding on to it for 15 to 20 years, you may see the value increase depending upon condition. But as many of you probably know, to collectors the more modified they are from stock the less it's valued.

Yeah definetley rare!!! I would like to see how many like mine were produced throughout all year's that would give me my number.

I want to check my Fleetwood Brougham as well. I have a rag top delete from the factory (Broughams all come with rag tops if anyone didnt know). I bet mine is like the only one. If so that is going to be one rare car!!!!

I have to punch the VIN in and see what it says.

Mine was built on 04/07/2006 - There are 6 2006 STS V 4 DR vehicles (0.459%) matching your exact options list. There are 392 (30.015%) with at least as many options.

But looking at specifics,
46U PRIMARY COLOR EXTERIOR, STEALTH GRAY MET (04) (46U) ---- 131
13I INTERIOR TRIM,LT SMOKE GRAY (13I) ---- 304

Wow!

I've got an 07 Platinum/light gray. Looks like there were 135 made in that combination in 07. The rarity section says mine is the only one to match my options list exactly, but since that includes stuff like build week, front license plate holder, and other trivial details, I'll go with the 1 of 135, which is rare enough for me. But the 08's and 09's - those are rarer than almost any other car made today.

I'm not sure I trust these #'s. What options were available? Aside from exterior/interior color choices, aren't all V's for any year equipped the same? I thought they all came loaded? Could you get one without a NAV system or 15 speaker stereo? Could you get it without a moonroof?

I don't have my window sticker so I can't tell if there were any non-standard options on my car, but I thought there weren't any options.

Comp nine is telling me I'm 1 of 4, with 7 having AT LEAST as many options. I don't know of any options that existed that I don't have.

Moonroof was actually optional, though I'm not sure how many came without it. It might have been you had to order it WITHOUT one or it defaultly came with it. I thought there was a member on here who had one without the moonroof, as he did not want it..

I could see not getting a moon roof on a sports car like an m3.. but our cars are so big and heavy as it is, whats an extra 80 lbs for a moon roof really going to do to our handling??

Bee iLL
03-01-10, 02:37 PM
I don't think it was a matter of better handling, I think it was a matter of him just not wanting it or having a bad experience with a moon roof in the past.

Many of those "options" are not real options, but rather what week it was built, if it had a front license plate holder, Calif emissions, etc. Thats why the "1 of . . . " numbers are so low.

I used the RPO codes to figure out there were 642 made in 07, 201 had my Platinum exterior, 135 had my light gray interior, and only 69 had the platinum/light gray combination. And all of the platinum cars had sunroofs. So my 2007 is one of 69 - thats pretty rare, and seems believable.

LMAO I ran into some random guy who told me do not get rid of that car!
and me mentioned a non rag top Brougham being really rare.
It needs a bunch of work but it's sitting inside a storage bay at the moment.

I really only need either a head gasket or intake manifold gasket to get it running again.

That's that I ended up doing. 459 2008's made, 249 with Black exterior, 58 with the Ebony/Tango interior. 38 cars with both.

Although I'm real curious where compnine gets their data. I had thought in previous posts that production #$'s of 1200 for 2006 and upwards of 1500 for 2007 were being thrown around, and about 1000 for 2008. The compnine #'s are way lower than that. There have been a lot of previous posts asking about production #'s and its always been a mystery. How would compnine get all this production data?

Interesting side note: the number 427 seems to show up a lot. Out of 459 2008's, only 427 included GPS / infotainment system / Digital Audio, Garage Door Openers, heads-up display, HID Headlights, side obstacle sensor, or outide heated mirror (probably a different mirror with the side obstacle delete). All of those 427 included something called a US/Canada Vehicle statement. So - I'm assuming the remaining 32 cars were all made for foreign export. Of the 38 cars I mentioned above (Black w/ Ebony/Tango), 8 of them seem to be foreign export cars. So that brings me down to one of 30 in North America.

No idea who Compnine even is, but I heard from someone on the GTO forum ( I had a GTO) that there were under 700 STS-V's made in 07. This guy worked in the assembly plant, and although he didn't know exact numbers he still knew there was just under 1300 "Supercharged" emblems used in 07 - at two per car that was around 650 cars. Since Compnine said 642 were made in 07, that made sense to me and goes along with the other info I had heard.

I have the 2007 literature or sales brochure. The sunroof was standard.
The only item listed as (A) for available was the Engine Block Heater.
I did read something in the owners manual about the computer selectable suspension being an option.

2007 STS-V Production = 642
Total built for export = 65

Sunroof Delete = 5

Thunder Grey Exterior = 81
Silver Exterior = 201
Black Exterior = 360

Tango Red/Ebony Interior = 85

It looks like all 642 had the computer selectable suspension on the front.
Only 327 (Codes 8TY & 9TY) had the computer selectable suspension on the rear. I have this option and mine is Thunder Grey.

The codes also list a bunch of sales packages.
Maybe some of the items that these V's have or don't have were part of various sales packages.

Now I'm confused - I have an 07 and don't think any of the suspension is computer selectable. I thought that was a feature of the magnetic suspension on the regular STS - and not on any V's. How do you adjust the suspension?

CQQL_STS-V
03-06-10, 10:25 PM
I don't know if it is adjustable or not.
I did see something in the owners manual about changing from sport to touring suspension.

My STS-V build sheet lists the the following items.
Only 327 of the 642 units were built with this option in 2007.

8TY - COMPONENT RR LH - COMPUTER SEL SUSP (8TY) SUSP(8TY)
9TY - COMPONENT RR RH - COMPUTER SEL SUSP (9TY) SUSP(9TY)

Only 208 of the 642 units were built with this option in 2007.
G64 - SALES PACKAGE PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE PKG(G64)

I am assuming that this sales package (and other sales packages) had something to do with the different items listed on the build sheets in smaller quantity than the total production run for 2007.

I will check the owners manual on the suspension tomorrow.

GM uses the term "Computer Selected Suspension" on a lot of vehicles. It only has to do with how they select the springs and shocks at the factory for a particular vehicle. It does not refer to the Magnetic Ride Suspension that you can select either the touring or performance modes from the nav screen. My STS has the option listed below which allows the firmness of the suspension to be changed on the nav screen.
