ok i work at a hospital and a doctor asked me, as he said,"seeing as youre a big Cadillac enthusiast," if Cadillac is going to make the Cien because he'd like to get one. i told him i wasnt sure but id ask my friends at cadillac forums. i went to the cadillac site but nothing there says anything. has anybody heard if they are or not. i thought it was just a concept car that wasnt really gonna be made. anyone here know? he also asked if it is made what price range would he be looking at? :hmm: i dont know probably in the 200k to 300k range maybe?

I think that was a concept car at the 2002 auto show - debut'd here at the north american international? auto show.

Also, I believe the XLR was born from some of it's designs..

So, have the Doc get an XLR, and bank the money a few more years until a low-production business case can find it's way through the bean-counters gauntlet.

:drinker

The XLR was born from the Evoq concept. That one debuted at Detroit's NAIAS in 1999.

As for the Cien, unfortunately there are no plans to produce the car.
The good news is that Mark LaNeve (president of Cadillac until his recent promotion) has let slip on numerous occasions that Cadillac is looking at building the Sixteen concept as an Ultra-luxury vehicle. The engine that is rumored to be in the production version is the XV12 Northstar from the Cien (and possibly the V16 in a very high-end version). Expect pricing to hit six figures easily.

NEUROSURGEON. he makes more money in a day than i will make in a lifetime. he makes six figures a year. i told him that Cadillac might make the V16. he said he hopes so. he is a die hard Cadillac fan. he wanted to buy my Fleetwood. i said id sell it for 1 million dollars. he laughed. but he really wants a Cadillac.

Maybe he can settle for a STS for the time being?

I don't think the Cien would sell even if Cadillac did produce it. I mean, if you want a Lambo, go buy a Lambo; not a Cadillac copy-cat.
