Hello everyone! Is anyone else going to the Hot Rod Power Tour this year??

I just signed up for the first run from Newton, IA to Springfield, IL. I'm excited/anxious/worried/happy/scared for my Cadillacs first road trip with a total round trip mileage around 1100 miles!! I plan on freshening up every fluid before I go, and have full list of emergency things to take. Just wondering if anyone else is going???

Holy $hit either I've had way too much coffee or I'm getting genuinely excited about this. Should I take my cammed out STS to this event? Or do some mods to my 97 ETC and take it? Oh the possibilities!

Kick94 - if I go we have to meet up.

I'm going to read up some more- :)

Yea I'm pretty excited for it, I should be lowered and new exhaust and brakes by the time I go!

All the way from ontario you should get the long hauler award no matter how far you go!

Does this mean I only have until June to build that RWD , Superchaged 97 ETC? I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight. The thought of 1100 miles in a Caddy I love, among a bunch of muscle machines, is overwhelming. I guess I am car crazy.

This is the most fun you can have in your car with your clothes on! My wife and I took our 68 DeVille Convertible last year, had a blast, and made the magazine (page 46 of the Oct '09 issue). First time it had been driven in the rain since 2004, but oh well, it's a car! Total trip was about 2800 miles for us, and it will be close to that this year. We are heading out to Newton on Friday and may stay in the Gulf Shores area a bit after the tour.

Go to the magazine website and search for 2009 power tour coverage...the big beast is in there (The forum won't let me post links yet)

Fun stuff, everyone needs to go!

What are the dates? I already have 2 trips planned this year, don't know if I'll be able to squeeze another in.
