It is VERY sweet looking for an econobox....

I swear, headlights are eventually going to stretch into the door! Looks like a modern French car, maybe a Peugeot.

lol, sorry, no....

A huge version would be a hot Equus...

02-12-10, 08:08 PM
Interesting for sure.

Cow costumes. I'd milk those udders.

02-12-10, 09:02 PM
Wow. I like how that second asian chick is balancing on thin air.

Oh...right. There's a car there.

02-12-10, 09:54 PM
It looks like an "asianed" (you know what I mean) Passat CC or CLS Mercedes.

me ruv you rong time

02-12-10, 10:53 PM
Actually the way the girls arranged disguises the very high (wide) freeboard the car has ........ and yes it does look like an accurate rip-off of the euro-coupe sedan, but what the hay every one is copying that look so one would expect that from Hyandai. The real question is Hyandai's rendition of the design a good looking copy. I bet if you drove up in a XJ8 you would have no problem taking both those girls to dinner!

02-12-10, 10:56 PM
I think Hyundai put the girls there to distract you from the MASSIVE WHEEL GAP.

02-12-10, 11:08 PM
^^^ That too!

02-13-10, 01:47 AM
It strikes me as an over exaggerated Elantra, which in it's own right isn't a bad looking little car IMO.

02-13-10, 02:15 AM
Hyundai has definitely come a long way, but they really need to work on their front end styling. The whole inverted hood center didn't do much for Oldsmobile, and extending it into the grille itself is not helping the cause.

02-14-10, 01:26 AM
Those headlights look like crap.

No thanks.

02-14-10, 09:55 AM
Well.......atleast it doesn't look like anything else.

Hyundai is really amping up their game nowadays. While other asian brands make ugly, boring problematic cars and cover up their many issues (Toyota), or make hideously disgusting looking cars (Honda), it's nice to see a brand really coming into the limelight, instead of sliding out of it.

EDIT: I did a little research on the new Sonata on Hyundai's website, and they don't even offer it with a V-6! WTF?? The best you can do is 200hp out of it's 2.4L naturally aspirated I-4.

200 HP is pretty dang good for an econo-box 4 banger! Heck, that's what a Cad 4.9 makes! :bigroll:

02-14-10, 11:31 PM
True, though the V8 will do it smoothly and quietly. The same cannot be said of an I4.

02-14-10, 11:48 PM
Right, but these is in a class where all the other contenders have a V-6 of atleast 250 hp. What gives Hyundai?

02-14-10, 11:50 PM
Hyundai really has come a long way ....... and their timing couldn't be better with Japanese makers encountering turbulence. I really do have to drive an Equus (even though I really hate the name) and see how it stacks up in the current market place. The last time I took Road & track, Motor Trend, et al. seriously I ended up with a new 1984 Audi 5000S ....... needless to say I don't give the motor press a lot credence ever since. Hyundai seems to have fielded a line of across the board attractive cars and with the marketing savvy they have shown over the last two years I don't begrudge them their rising market share.

I had a base model Kia Forte 4-door (5-speed!!!) as a loner car. Put 800 miles on it over a week.

I was quite impressed with it. In fact I liked it, alot. Made me look at the Forte Koupe SX (bigger engine, 6spd trans and sport suspension).

02-15-10, 05:44 PM
The Forte really looks sharp, probably the coolest looking thing in it's class.

02-15-10, 06:28 PM
Yeah, I saw one of those the other day. I was wondering "What is that?" and when I saw that it was a Kia, I was very suprised.
