I posted something in the suspension thread and got 0 responses. What would happen to the electronics on the car if I just put on cheap ass shocks and didn't worry about any of the electronics. Would it cause the car to throw a code a limit the vehicle speed? Any other concerns? Remember this is for the racing caddy.

Some stability and/or suspension fault codes will limit speed to 90 mph and also set a DTC.

If the roll, pitch, and yaw sensors (1994 ???) coupled with the signals from ride height and strut/shock operation do not give the "I'm OK" signals to the PCM the fault code and limiter sets.

EDIT: I believe that a faulty steering wheel turn rate sensor will also set the 90 mph limiter - it's tied into the stability system.

What about ripping out the airbags? Is there a way to override the limiter?

Talk directly with Wester's Garage concerning your car, what it's going to be used for, and what to do to the PCM.

Wester's is discussed quite a bit in here and PCM Tuning. Their website has been posted several times in the last 2 weeks - either go back in time a bit or let another member link the site so all can share..................I'm not dissing you - I just want all to be in the same boat.

Google "westers garage" and open the link with "eidnet.org/" in the URL.
