In my '93 DeVille ever since I've owned it the air conditioner does not blow very hard. A matter a fact it just trickles out pretty much(on High fan). Now, the air that does come out is plenty cold and all and when I have the heat goin it keeps up really well but thats the floor vent I believe. As for the vent on top the dash that gets the windshield air comes out of that at a fairly decent speed(with high fan on and a/c).

sugestions as to how I could fix it or what the problem is would be great, thanks ya'll!

The door that controls the air delivery from the defroster vents and the floor vents between the AC vents is actuated by vacuum I believe. I would look for a split or disconnected vacuum hose from the engine compartment. Find the vacuum hose going through the firewall that supplies the HVAC system and follow it back to the engine to make sure the ciruit is complete. There should be a check valve in the vacuum line and a vacuum reservoir inside the right fender I believe. A leak in any of these would cause the vacuum to the HVAC system to be lost and the system to default to the floor/defroster vents only.

Thanks for the help! The prior owner of the car had a dog in it all the time and when I had taken the car in to a shop to fix the blowing problem the guy pulled a ton of dog hair out of the compresor but it still didnt blow to well. Could the dog hair have cloged the vacum hose?

well I'll go try and find that hose tonight thanks for the help.

i know for a fact on my caddy that if you go into diagnosics mode by holding warmer and off on the climate control you can adjust the speed of the air coming out of the vents by first pressing outside temp button and then pressing colder or warmer buttons and you should do this with the a/c on at the time, when you go into diag. mode the a/c will shut off for a sec then come back on.i think the higher the setting on the fan speed(goes to 100 on mine) the faster the air comes out of the vent.if it's way down like near 0 then that could be the problem.mine was tuned down when i got the car last year and this solved my problem.try it and lemme know.

What does the car default to if the battery is disconnected?

If I understand the first question, he is asking about the fan speed, and commenting on speeds at each position. The vac hose from the engine should only affect if it changest between floor, vent, and defrost, which it sounds like is working if I am reading the question right.

I have wondered this as well, is it possible to put a higher speed blower in the car, or could it be modified like a re-wound alternator for more power?

it's a good idea but i kinda don't think that a faster blower motor will work in the car,you might blow the relay for the blower, and this is connect to the BCM in the dash so i would bother trying to fry the BCM for some more fan speed,i feel that it's good enough in my vehicle.the only thing that i would love to do is fix so the warm air comes out the front instead of the bottom and windshield, but i guess cadillac was thinking of not burning old people which is why i think they did it that way.

my 85 deville seems to work in reverse of this, it was at 0, then as I moved it up when it hit about 50 it was almost off.

Okay so I did the 0-100 thing and actually it ended up that at 0 the fan blew harder and around 100 it did nothing. It was already at 0 when I went to do the thing and now for some reason its blowin just a little better in the middle two vents. Nothing is barely comeing out of the other vents especially in the back seat. Thanks for the help :p I would love to see it work. Oh and if I may ask why does the Check Engine Light and Service vehicle light come on when in diag mode.
