I have a problem with my driver side seatbelt. Every time I pull it out or unlock my seatbelt it squeeks like crazy. Now it is doing it so bad that it squeeks every time I move with my seatbelt on.:banghead: I can even notice that the seatbelt doesn't want to retract all the way now.
Does anybody know if you can "pop" that little plastic piece in the seat that your seatbelt feeds into? I didn't want to pry too hard and break it. I was hoping that I would be able to just pry it off and spary a little WD 40 on the seatbelt retracter.
I have the same problem but only when it's cold and due to "global warming", it's been squeaking a lot this year. It's actually become a laugh between my wife and myself but I'd love to know how to shoot some lithium in there.
Mine just started squeaking as the weather got colder up here in NY as well, getting annoying. :banghead: I'm tempted to just take a can of WD-40 with the straw on the end of it and shove it in the space between the belt and the cover and spray while pulling and retracting the belt. Not sure about taking the plastic piece off, I'm on of those people that when I go poking around stuff breaks...:annoyed:
I have the same issue with mine. Wow. Weird to see people with the same issues as me.... service ride control, peeling paint on dash, unreadable radio / nav buttons b/c paint is GONE......
I'm gonna try pulling it all the way out, and like gmer said, stick a wd40 nozzle in there and spray. Remember though, you do not want to stain the belt, so no need to be liberal. Just a spray or two should do it.
Anyone figure out the best way to fix this? My 2000 Seville driver's seat belt squeaks just from riding down the road - even the smallest bumps. It's not loud, just really annoying when I don't have the radio on or the windows down.
I fixed mine by pulling the plastic slotted cap from the seat that the seatbelt goes through, pulled the seatbelt al the way out and sprayed in some lube.
