I am looking for a transmission filter kit for the 97 Deville with the 4t80e transmission. The kit comes with I believe a gasket, a filter, two screens, and some other rubber pieces. Anyone know if this can be ordered online?

Unless you have the trans out of the car or are rebuilding it you really do not need the trans filter for the 4T80E....

The actual filter for the 4T80E is inside the side cover and is not normally serviced unless the trans is apart.. The side cover and filter is not accessable unless the trans is out of the car.

Simply remove the lower pan, remove the screens and clean them and reinstall. They are not usually replaced...just cleaning them is fine. The screens just keep the chunks out of the scavenge pump that moves the oil to the side cover where it is stored and picked up by the line pressure pump thru the filter.

Remember to remove the "hidden" drain plug that is accessed once the bottom pan is removed to drain the side cover oil reservoir.

Replacing the lower pan gasket is the only item you need when doing normal service on the 4T80E.
