My 89 Deville is displaying a "C" on both the fuel and climate control panels on the dashboard. It does not display how much gas is left in the tank ("c" displayed). Also, I have no control over any of the climate controls... It is stuck on economy defrost. Please Help!!

It's likely time for a new BCM. You can try reseating the connectors though, couldn't hurt. There is a post about this in Electrical Techical Information that should turn up with a search that would have more information for you.

A few years ago my 89 Deville (which at the time was my dads) was doing very similar stuff to yours and it turned out that the BCM computer needed to be changed. But first try out what Davesmed suggested. Good luck with that issue.

Thanks for your advice... it seems that maybe the BCM could be the "cure-all"... I saw many other posts on the "electrical problems" forum with the same exact problems, so I ordered one and plan to tackle putting it in when it arrives. I'll let you know how things go... I did do what you first suggested and no-change... wish me luck!!

Make sure you have no electrical problems in your car because if you do and you plug in the new BCM you will cook it.

I replaced the BCM and it fixed my dash problems.
