I just picked up a '97 Deville, 80K miles. The right headlamp cover (plastic) is in terrible shape, compared to the left side. I used Meguiar's plastic cleaner and then followed up with their plastic polish. At least 4 times in the past month. It did a fantastic job bringing the left headlamp cover back to spec, but the right one remains clouded. It is better than it was, but still foggy around the top of the cover. Since a replacement unit will set me back the better part of $400 bucks, I am willing to try something esle.
So the plastic polish didn't do the trick on the bad side. Has anyone used Meguiar's fine cut compound on clear plastic? Can it be used without ruining it?
any other recommnedation from the "gurus" of detailing?
