I am starting to shop for a used STS V and wanted to know what improvements were made from 2006 through 2008? I am shopping for a low mile car and plan to keep the car 1.5 to 2 years as my daily driver. Any suggestions are appreciated.

HP, handling, performance overall is essentially the same for all years models. The 08 and 09 year models gained some tech gadgets. Heads Up Display, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning. There are also some minor differences in the key FOB and controls on the steering wheel. 08 and 09 gained the side vents for looks on the body, and the 09s have the word "Supercharged" removed from the doors next to the :v: symbol. But overall the car has stayed the same.

No 'GM' logo on the front quarters of the 09. If you go back on Cadillac's website, there some changes in the engine description from 07 to 08. Both 4.4 supercharged, but performance is better on the 08/09. Also, if you look hard enough, there were some overall vehicle dimension changes.

When has the STS-V ever been advertised as having more than 469 HP / 439 TQ in any year model ?

It took a bit to find but here is a good link: http://www.cadillac.com/cpo-showroombyyear/?modelId=2324

I've never seen it advertised having more than 469hp but the first MotorTrend or Car/Driver had the 06 just below 440hp.

That's because before the car was actually released there were estimations about its horsepower, which when finalized it was shipped at 469/439. Some early projections were in the 430-440hp range.

As far as the engine differences you're seeing on that page, I believe that's just the way it was typed VVT vs SC, both of which are in the LC3 engine of every year. Cadillac's website (unfortunately) gets some "errors" on it from time to time. :)

The XLR-V was the reference HP at times; due to packaging, its slightly down from the STS-V's numbers.

Actually, they did not delete the GM badge on the front corners of the 09's, at least not on mine.

I have GM badges on my '09, too.

Think they meant supercharged wording not the GM badges.

I think the voice recognition is horid in my 2006 STS. Very very basic and cant even understand me half the time plus many of the commands cant be used while the car is in motion like opening windows. Is it any better in the 2008 and up?
