LOL--my first couple of tanks only got me 220-240, but included a lot of city driving too. Routinely get well over 300 per tank now (16-17 gal fill).

1st time i filled up spent around 5 min looking for the patent gm fuel door release button like my vetts had. to my findings in the manual it is just the spring loaded door. i was sorta surprised it wasnt lockable at all

Don't even joke about that - I have had bad experience with the fuel gauge in this car. It's fixed now, but still, bad memories.

i avg about 16-17. my commute to work is mostly country roads so i tend to drive a bit more sporty most of the time. did my first mini road trip up and down I95 over Christmas to visit the in laws..about 220 miles round trip. i was able to eek out 18.9 mpg driving at an avg speed of 75 mph.

I get terrible fuel economy but I didn't buy it for that anyway... I'm averaging 12.8 mpg with a 9" pulley on the stock tune.

30 miles of my daily 66 mile commute are on the highway, the rest is stop and go traffic in a 45mph zone.

That was a very funny story after all was said and done.

You have way too much fun in the corners & sweepers. But I do owe you one though. I keep my tank half-full to full now, and I used to keep it on fumes to half-full.

I get about 230-250 miles per tank in my usual commute. I don't even think about it anymore as I've had the car a bit over nine months at this point and can afford the gas (thankfully).

I'm averaging around 17MPG since I bought the V back in April. There are some days I think I hit single digit MPG. :lildevil::lildevil:

I drove a family of five with about 50 pounds of luggage about 300 miles over interstate highways at an average speed of about 72 mph and got 19.4 mpg. I average 12-13 mpg on my suburban/urban commute. My worst to date is 11.8 mpg on a full tank of fuel. The car now has 4k miles.

You had way too much fun with that tank of gas.

I have 18,000+ miles on my car and get about 21 mpg driving 73 - 75 mph on the highway (manual transmission no mods.). I have a lot of experience with the LS engines and believe that the best fuel economy is not achieved until 25,000 - 30,000 miles. I expect to pick up an addition mpg then.

yeah i have had several lsx style motors before.
also and knew the ls1's etc broke in good around 5-10k
even though i always had used so was already done for me

i remember saying someone did a tune and picked up some mpg?? interstates here are 75mph so i usually go 80 mph so i cant expect anything too great

LOL - glad I could be of help :) I do enjoy the cornering on this car. I've hit 1.0 g so far and the car only has 670 miles on it. They didn't say anything about taking it easy in the corners for the break-in procedure, so that's where I'm having my fun until the break-in is complete :lildevil:

FWIW, the new fuel gauge sending unit is reading about 1.5 gallons conservative now (more gas in the tank than it indicates), which is fine with me, as it gives me a little bit of reserve, although I try not to run it much below 1/4 tank now.

Please note: The fuel guage is directly tied to the boost guage. When the boost goes up, that gas guage goes down. I noticed that on my second tank...
Perhaps it is your right foot that is broken? You should think with your wallet and not your right foot. Should I go on?
