Well, finally got to a dyno today to see what the car can do. I was expecting a bit more power but I think there is some power left in more timing.

I wanted to say thanks to Jesse for answering some questions. I know I bugged ya a bit today but I didn't want to hog up my friends dyno much longer. Also thanks to my buddy Greg at Ret for dyno time and helping me out (even though he won't see this.)

Car made 530hp/550tq. A/f 11.5-11.9 timing was at about 14-15 degrees and iat2 temps were at about 109.

Mods are:
Lower pulley 10inch ring.
D3 intake
W4m Heat exchanger
Kooks Longtubes and mid-pipe, factory mufflers.

Going to play around more with efilive and do some more data logging and see if I can find some more power. Till then going to enjoy it now.

Yea 530 through an automatic. i know i feel its low. I also don't know what range of numbers I should be expecting also so anyone feel free to chime in!

That's very much the mods I had in mind. What kind of dyno, BTW?

I know how you feel. I ran mine on a Dynojet with many of the changes you have. I didn't have the heat exchanger or the 10" pulley at the time. It turned a 527hp and 552tq. This is with a auto. I wish I knew what that would be at the flywheel. I now have the 10" and the heat exchanger is on the way. I don't know if I will have the car go through that ordeal again. Cecil.........

What was the a/f ratio @ 4250 rpm? Did torque drop off at this rpm too?

Did you dyno before the mods?
What type of dyno?
Was it the same dyno as used after the mods?

boost w/10in ring = ?

In dash pegged at 15. Talked to Jesse he said probably 13 if I remember. I wanted to hook up an external boost gauge but ran out of time so no more pulls till next time I am there.

Pulls were made on a dynojet 224. I did not do a stock baseline only because a gentleman came in with a 09 cts-v auto with 5000 miles off the street and made 450/460 if I recall on same dyno. I pretty much used that for a baseline.

Nutz, the a/f was around 11.6 at 4250. I didn't mess with timing and was going to put another 2 degrees in but again ran out of time.

I was hoping for 560-590 with that ring. :confused:

When you made those numbers did you have a pulley at all?

I'm sorry, I forgot to mension that I had a 9.5 ring with air intake, exhaust mod, 160 stat, W4me tune. Stock boost gauge was pegged at 15 lbs. Cecil...........

Here's another sample for ya. I made similar #'s to qictrk with similar mods (9.5, Full W4M Cold-Air, W4M Tune).

518/540 SAE through an automatic on a dynojet.

I have an auto that dynoed 438 whp 432 trq on dyno jet stock. After adding Kooks 1 7/8, WFM intake, WFM exhaust with stock mufflers, WFM heat heat exchanger, WFM 9.5 pulley, and bigger injectors 82 lbs. (stock injector duty cycle was at 100),160 thermostat, car put down 525 whp,500trq. Stealth cam is going in as we speak so I will keep you posted.

Another stock 09 dynoed the same day as mine (auto) and he put down 409 whp, 459 trq stock and after tune 455 whp, 441 trq. Hope this helps.

Were your before (stock) & after (modded) dyno pulls done of the same dyno?
And was the other one done on the same dyno?
Were these pulls done on 91 octane?

I didn't get to log injector duty cycle which I will next time for sure. I do wonder how was fuel pump duty? I have a boost-a-pump that is not installed yet and was trying to avoid it if possible.

All runs where done on the same dyno. From my experience there is variance from dyno to dyno even dyno jets. I have had several of my past cars dynoed within weeks of each other on two different dyno jets here in town and they always are different. This particular dyno jet reads lower than the other shops dyno jet. My shop said the fuel system is fine, but to be safe going with larger injectors is the way to go. Gained no power with larger injectors just did feel safe running the factory ones at 100% duty cycle.

I also forgot. We are in Ohio so I was running 92 octane. I cannot comment on what octane the other 09 V was running.

Forgot but the boost with the 9.5 WFM pulley was at 11 lbs.

I'd be happy with modest numbers and better traction. The point is to get better performance out of the mods not to be a dyno queen. If the auto can get more bang to the rubber who cares about the dyno numbers.

I want drag times!

I hear ya bacdoc. I just wanted to compare to see if I am leaving anything on the table in power. I know that 2 degrees might net me 10hp add leaner conditions maybe more but I feel the car is really safe right now. It was raining on the way home yesturday so I couldn't really get on it. I did drive it today and wow what a difference. The car does need tire and I don't plan on going to the track till spring but hopefully by then I can get some bogarts with some slicks and see what happens.
