I am trying to mount some speakers in the doors on my 86 deville, but I cant figure out how to get the panel off. Does anyone know how to take the front door panel off

From memory, so if i miss anything, someone else chime in. Two screws under the door pull, one behind the latch handle, one behind each ctsy light, and two under the power switches, removable by depressing the clip accessible through a notch in one of the ends of the window/seat switch panel. I think that's it for the screws, the rest should be regular clips that you need to pull on the panel to release. Start at the bottom and work up. Make sure the one by the rearview mirror is released at the top, and slide it up while holding it out from the door slightly.

You also have to to take the black plastic thing off that's behindthe door handle.

Do a search. The instructions for taking the panels off is here in the forum and I think they also include a picture scanned in from the service manual.

I see the notch on the switch panel, and I cant seem to get it off, and I dont want to break it. How do I get the 2 lights off? I am just worried about pullng too hard and breaking them.

Push the blade of a screwdriver in that notch straight back toward the switches, then lift the assembly up. The lights? There held in on either side by plastic clips. They are hard to remove without breaking them, so the best advice is be careful.
