Hello, I have a 95 El Dorado, I was driving my car this morning at about 40 mph and ran into a speed bump and the front passanger's side was the only affected, so after a minute or two I got the message, and now every time I drive my car it gives me that error and I noticed that the engine looses power or torque when accelerating from zero, can somebody help me, and tell me what can I do? :hmm:

jack the car up and make sure the sensor over there didnt come unplugged. find out how to pull codes from your car and see what it says.. it will tell you the problem. Fix whatever it says and clear your codes. all better

hey thanks for replying, well I inspected the car an all the sensors are seem to be ok then a got a code using the intrument panel of the car by pressing the off button and the warm button on the instrument panel and it gave me a T073 code I guess is has to do with the traction control system, any idea what that code means? thankssss :)

cool cool, yeah.. thats how you access mine.. wasnt sure if it was the same. nice detective work :) == I thought maybe when you hit that bump, it disconnected a sensor, somebody on the forum had that problem. You have the 4.6 Liter northstar? Reason i ask is because the 4.9 doesnt have traction control and this code cant be set on that vehcile.

Its a communication faulire between the PCM and the EBTCM/EBCM .. basically it see's your traction was lost and disables injectors to help you regain some footing. In your case yu hit a bump and the signal was inturrupted, flagged it as an error. I think you can just clear that code and everything will be alright. If not, post back and ill see what i can do for ya. welcome :)

Well, bad news, I cleared the codes and I went for a ride and after a couple of minutes the message appeared again, so I check for codes again and it gave me the same one the T073 and a S060 HISTORY and I027 HISTORY, any idea, oh and yeah I have the 4.6, thanks.. :rolleyes2

SO60 - LF Posistion sensor fault .. turns on 'Service Ride Control' and commands all four dampers to firm.. you said this was history. sounds like you have a loose connection. SD10 (RSS values) will should be around -89 to 89 in this case.

T073 - PCM-EBTCM/EBCM PWM Signal fault. (pulse width modulation)
This one disables up to 5 injectors. Turns on 'Traction Disabled' .. the problem has to be in the connection. Its a orange/black wire and a tan/black wire that runs from the EBTCM/PCM (mounted in the trunk) to the PCM.. i think the PCM is behind the glovebox. cant really troubleshoot this one because it calls for a universal breakout box (part #39700) -- The dealship does electronic diagnoses for about 80 an hour.

I cant find IO27 :hmm:

ok, thanks, Ill check the conections of those wires and see what happens or is there a way to by pass the TCS so the PCM thinks everything is ok and therefore I will not get that error message? thanks for all your info, is very valuable :)

word, yeah.. finally some apprecation.. lol i've noticed when i throughly help
somebody out.. the're like "well fix it" and get all upset. kinda annoys me.

Cool, so if jiggling some wires dont work for you.. and we cant find a common thread between these few codes and your little event. i dont know man.

Everything was fine before the speed bump incident ? .. hah - and what were you doing 40 in a residental neighboorhood for -- mad man :)) did you get any air? -- for the PCM/EBTCM bypass.. nothing really, im sure if you knew about electronics.. you could plug in a few things into the wiring and trick the system.. all that really flows over those wires are voltage.. a little battery and a few misc parts i bet you could fool it.

Hey how you doing? I just inspectioned the cables that are located in the trunk but there is like four o five different black boxes do you know which one is the one that I am supposed to take a look of it. Oh and a little question, I am thinking to replace the front struts of my car and a saw a 2001 El Dorado ETC and the struts are good do you think they will fit mine? Thanks.:)

not sure about the struts from a size or compatabilty standpoint. translation: i dont know. not sure about the struts from a size or compatabilty standpoint. translation: i dont know. If your just wanting replacment struts and not the active RSS/SSS struts. check out the passive ones. you could call up the dealership and see if they'll be able to help you. That thing in the trunk *should* be marked with a "EBTCM" stamp.. or say something about brakes.

hello dude, I was wondering if you have the diagnostic chart for this code T073 or do you know where can I get it form? Thanks.
