: What is the value of my 2009?

I'm looking to sell/trade my 2009 CTS-V, nothing unusual, this process seems to happen about once a year.

It is black / black with NAV and sunroof. Sticker was near $64,400 and it is completely stock. It has 4,400 miles and I'm located in Houston. What do you guys think it is worth? It was treated as a 3rd car and is in great condition.

I trade cars frequently and I've really enjoyed the V, but I'm ready to experience something new.

Thanks,
Dave

I looked at ebay from time to time and I would say you'd have to sell it for around 10K less than what you paid, maybe even a little more, if you really want to move it. There are some that ask more, but I rarely see them move. A private car in this price range is a little harder to sell because the buyer has to pay cash or find their own financeing. When the coup becomes common on the streets, I will probably do the same as you. Cecil...........

I'm selling the same car as you have. Asking $57K with little interest at this price. I think our cars are worth about 52K - 54K right now.

I'm glad I can own a car for years and never get tired of it.

Just one data point... I picked up an '09 on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Silver, manual shift, nav, sunroof, no Recaros, 20" wheels, Corsa, 5k miles. The seller wanted $52,500, but I was the only bidder and got it for $51k on a second chance offer after he didn't get his reserve price.

Yes - value on this car (with the options to make up the $64k) is about $49,900. I saw an exact optioned car as this (had 6spd, Corsa, and tint) that was for sale in Miami. FL and it sold within hours of posting. I wanted that car badly.
So, for a stock car, the most you could realistically expect somebody to pay is around $49K. If you can hold the car longer, you will probably feel less guilty about the extreme depreciation drop.
Or, if you have a 6spd car and want to trade for a low mileage (15,700 miles) 2002 F150 Lightning that you can have fun with, let me know:)

Good thing I'm planning to keep the car for a while. These are good times to be a used V2 buyer.

Good luck on your sale... What are you looking at getting next, if I may ask?

prepare to bite the bullet. I flip cars regularly too. I always lose my mod $. Doesn't bother me though. The most mileage I have ever put on a car before selling was my 06 300C srt8 and it had 11,000 on it when I bought it. Got rid of it after 35,000 miles. Good luck with the sale and hope you get a good price on your new vehicle.

As far as what will replace the V, my interest seems to change every couple of days. But right now I would say it is a BMW X5 M, or possibly a 2 seater like an Audi R8.

Thanks for all the input. I think that if I can work out the details of the new car this week, I'd be happy to offer the V at $50,000.

I'm in Houston and if anyone is interested in the car, please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

Switching cars is much cheaper than switching women. I've bought and sold more than 20 cars in the past 10 years, but I've been with the same woman the entire time. She understands my hobby, and doesn't sweat it.

Me and my wife test drove the bmw x5 m and hated it..The gas pedal was kinda like a pedal on a video game or someting..We opted for the 2010 Ranger Rover sport supercharged..Excellent Vehicle.

With GMS and $5k incentive plus additional dealer discount , I paid about $51k on Nov. 2 for leftover 2009 that has a sticker close to $68 (every option except Recaros).

Depending where you are, looks like high 40s might be the best to hope for. Having said that, the dealers here on the East Coast use Galves as their Bible. For a couple of bucks, you can get a pretty good estimate (galves.com).

+1 here. Wife isn't enamored of my love of cars but doesn't complain as long as I keep her in a car of her choice and am saving for our retirement and our son's education. 15 years married and going strong.

anonfrank: If you are keeping your wife happy in a car of her choice, saving for you & your wife's retirement, saving for your son's education, and married for 15 years, that's quite an accomplishment and my hats off to both of you. On today's market, that's a record to be proud of. Congratulations

$52k-54k IT SUCKS TO THINK ABOUT IT, BUT THAT'S ABOUT RIGHT.

OF COURSE THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS WHATEVER THE MARKET WILL BEAR. IF YOU ARE PATIENT, YOU MAY FIND SOMEONE WILLING TO GO A BIT HIGHER SAY $55K-56K...AS "LOW MILEAGE" 09'S WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES WILL BECOME HARDER TO FIND.

Florian

I was considering getting rid of mine and my dealer was going to go 50 even, but it wasn't quite high enough to do what I was trying to accomplish. Heck try Carmax sometimes that place can surprise.
