: Showroom Carpet

I'm looking for the large carpet that dealers used to have in the showrooms to park the cars on. I can't find any on Ebay or anywhere else for that matter. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one or how much they are going for?

So I'm taking this as, if I find one it will cost and arm and a leg, or no one wants one for their garage.

Is this the right section to post this in?

You should be able to have one made up to your dimensions and with materials you designate at a local rug store. All it is is area rug with an inlaid border, these are done all the time for hotels, stores and homes.

That could be, but I want the real thing.

This company sells carpet from the Detroit auto show every year:

That’s cool but what about the old stuff like actual memorabilia.

They don't let you pick through the dump any more.

Write to GM's division sales support and ask about where they sourced the show rugs and ask if there is a way to purchase any obsolete inventory. GM seems willing to sell just about anything these days!

I would have thought Cadillac enthusiasts would have scooped these up and put them in their garage or for car shows or in their basements under the pool table or something. Does this mean none of these exist anymore?

Run around car shows waving $100 bills in the air and rug owners will find you.

I guess I'll have to give that a try, I figured on a forum this large someone would have an idea.

It appears that nobody on the forum can provide a source but exhibitors at car shows just might know somebody. Make your wishes known. You might also try going around to long standing dealerships and asking an old timer or two where they got them.

It's an interesting question. I didn't actually know there were specific carpets, I figured each made or had made their own style

Having said that, I was going to get some remnants matching the interior just to put a square under each tire.

The one in the picture is the one I have seen before, from when I worked as a detailer/lot boy at a dealership. I thought they were promo stuff like the posters and brochures, flags and signage, ect, so obviously more than one existed, bc that's not the dealer I worked at in the picture.

Still looking, I can't find the real thing.
