While, I too like the BMW 3 series cars, they have become very predictable as a Car & Driver Top ten pick. It probably says more about C&D readership preferences than the true quality of the cars they pick.

3-series for the WIN! Good to see two Mazdas and the CTS on that list.

3rd year in a row for the Cadillac CTS! I'm driving the '08 loaner again while my car is getting some work done and i still love how taut and agile it is compared to mine. I would definitely have to consider one as my next car!

No shock with the BMW 3-series, they really are some great cars. Not my style, but nonetheless a wonderful sports sedan.

Aside from the Fit, I like all the choices on varying levels.

Regarding the 3 Series, a friend of mine has an '06 325i Sedan and I've always wanted to drive it. Everyone raves about how beautifully they drive. I really like the Mazda 3's as well, they're definitely an entry level car that feels miles above "entry level", especially the Mazdaspeed3. That thing is downright brutal! Too bad they look so goofy.... I almost went and bought an '06 Mazda3 S last summer...didn't think I'd ever like that car as much as I did, but I did. The steering was so tight, it handled so beautifully, the power was more than I anticipated from a four banger. It had a real nice interior that was a lot better built and designed than anything in a Corolla or Civic. It basically felt like a poor man's 3 Series.

Great seeing the CTS on there as well, just what we need.

Also, Gary, the Accord has been on their list longer than the 3 Series. It's been on there for 24 (?) years. Atleast 20.

.

Doesn't the S have a v6? We've got the V6, but I have no idea what the trim for it is called. I agree the handling is great, although understeer can become apparent when you push it.

Mazda6 has a V6, the 3 has a 4.

Don't forget the Mazdaspeed3's sister car - Ford Focus SVT. A friend has one, 6spd, pretty darn peppy.

No Mazda 3 has ever had a six cylinder. The first generation had a 2.0 (i) and 2.3 (s) four cylinder. Now they're up to 2.0 and 2.5

Yeah, I just read it wrong. I knew the 3 never had a V6, but I was quickly skimming and saw Mazda and 6 lol. We've got the 6 w/ the v6.

I love my V'''''''s, but there is no denying the amsomeness and worthiness of the 3 series...
