Does anyone know what my aftermarket options are for an exhaust manifold on a '69 with a 472?

MTS has some bolt on headers for you.

MTS? What's their full name, I wasn't able to find that brand online. Although on a side note I do have to say I'm impressed with google as this post is already in their system when I was doing a search for MTS.

Thanks!

Never mind I found it. (http://www.500cid.com). Their catalog wasn't easy to find.

Not too bad of a price compared to what Ive seen. Jay, do you think they will fit in a 90? I kinda think they will.

I think they might. The problem will be the same as if you are using 472/500 manifolds in the 77 and later chassis: passenger side A arm bolt clearance. If you look at the passenger manifold from a 368 or a 425, and compare it to the earlier manifold, you will see what I am worried about.

Call them. I bet one of their customers has got them in a 77-up. If not, tell them you will try them, and give them a good review if they fit nice. See if you can get a discount for "prototyping" for them. At least, make sure you can return them if they don't fit!

You may be able to grind down that rear bolt on the passenger A arm to give the headers more room.

How good are the MTS headers?

I dont think anybody here has them but they will definitely give you better top end power. Sound nice with better exhaust.

They will also give better fuel economy, IF you can keep your foot out of it "enjoying" your new power...
