I want to disable the traction control on my new 96 Fleetwood. It's of no use to me at all, I can judge when the tires are sleeping and power needs to be taken away. It's also so strange, it tries to engage at the weirdest times. A wire to cut, or a fuse to pull? Something to remove?

Theres the switch in the glovebox... You could just rewire it to the dash area or something.....
If you remove the ANTI SKID fuse you will have no ABS as well... Im pretty sure ABS and TCS are on the same thing.....

No TC button in there. Trunk open yes, but no TC. And the ABS isn't how the TC works in this Fleetwood. It's the kickback of the gas pedal.

It's there, look again. The switch is hard to find so you don't use it. ;-)
It would be great to have a TC system that used abs instead. I wonder if it's doable?

the traction control on the ~'93 DeVille used the ABS... infact it would engage the brakes on that wheel to slow it down, and not change the engine power... so when ever the TC was on, it would fight the engine... like riding the brakes.... I am glad my car dosn't have it...

The FWD engines on almost all GMs worked with ABS
Mainly why they hardly ever charged much extra for it...

Ok, laugh at me. I found the thing, in there, tucked away. And it doesn't disconnect my ABS. It resets every time I restart, but oh well. I'm happy with it off. Car drives more under my control. None of this pushing back against my foot. :P

I'm thinking that with posi and this set-up, it would be more drivable around town.
The current system interfers with the throttle. So if you turn a corner and your wheel slips you loose a nano-second of thottle. I think I'd rather loose a nano-second of one wheel than the whole drive train.

I wonder if when you press the button it opens or closes the circuit, to turn TCS off.. Either way you could probably unplug the switch......

Switch is a momentary ground. Could probably rig something up that disables it automatically each time...
