Hello,

I am interesting in painting my Deville that "Cadillac Yellow" that some Cadillacs came with around the late 70s, early 80s time period. Can anyone furnish me with the correct paint codes for the paint shop and perhaps what the color is actually called? I know the paint shop has "swatches" but its hard to tell if its that "Caddy Yellow" by eyeballing it and I do not want to end up with some crazy color. THANKS!

Gene

The official name of "Cadillac Yellow" is Colonial Yellow. But if you go into the shop and tell them you want Colonial Yellow, they'll look at you like you're stupid. The number is 54 and the paint dude will know it as "Light Yellow."

Cadillac got different names for their paint colors, but their paint color is exactly the same as used on other GM cars. Most places will recognize the color under its generic name.

There is a "sticky" thread at the top of the RWD forum with FAQ's. Look in there to see paint color names and go to page 2 or 3 and you can see pictures of the actual Cadillac color chart brochures which are pictures from me. Good luck painting your car and I love my yellow Cad and get lots of compliments on it. :)

Use the Chevrolet color name if you want this color. Chevrolet is GM generic

But that is a really nice car.
