Anyone who has ever read one of my posts here (and rememeber it) knows that I love my DeVille and have FEW problems with it, and it rolled over on 200,610 today :bouncy: However, a light came on that startled me.. my "Inflatible Restraint" light.

Now, I have no intention of hitting a tree with my baby or anything, but I noticed this light is a RED one, so it must be somewhat important. WTF is this thing, and also it might be helpful to know that it blinks, but not at any interval..it just comes and goes as it pleases. Throughout the day today, I could drive for 45 min with no sign of it, other times it would stay on the full trip and still other times, blink maddly. This think is burning my brain! As always, any and all replies are thanked in advanced..

i have the same thing on my 91.. air bag just don't work no more i'm guessin....i've driven atleast 15k miles with that light on and nothing has happened so i don't care about it lol my car has 220k on it now and still tickin..well somewhat

What major problems have you had from yours? I have babied mine sense I bought it (Had 90k on it then). I have had radiator work done to it, and had a leak in the tranny fluid but it was all fixed - the only code my car has shown is EGR Valve which I know is clogged, but TN has no emissions so its ignored. I couldn't drive anything but another Caddilac now ;-) Kind of hard to pull of when you're a 17y/o student!

I don't suppose you are familiar with retriving codes from the suspension module, or so called blink codes from another vehicle? There is a similar procedure to retrive the codes here. Jumper pins A and K on the ALDL, turn the ignition on, and count the blinks. It will blink 7 or 8 times, then blink code 12 by flashing once, short pause, flashing twice. then a long pause. Other codes will then be displayed in a similar fashion. Post them here, and myself, or someone else will look them up.
