Hi, my Dad just sold his 1984 Fleetwood and I wanted to post some pics of this gorgous car with just 100 000KM on it.

he bought the car for 6500$ CAN in 2001 and sold it last fall for 6000$ CAN. But the car was appraised at 8500$ CAN by an antique Evaluator. I guess there is just no market for this kind of car in Canada...

It's difficult to go by values they place on these lo-mi. cars. I think it's all a matter of finding the right buyer at the right time. My car isn't valued much by SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance) however I was offered over $20,000 for it last year because of the mileage! It all depends how bad someone wants it. My doctor offered $15,000 earlier this year.

$6,000 is a good price for it. Most seem to go for a lot less then that.

Butler... there's a familiar dealer :)

Man that car is beautiful. :) It looks just like my 85 Fleetwood Brougham minus sunroof, rims, and add blue leather seats and interior. I love to see a well kept, "throwback" cadillac. My car is sitting on 92,000 now and I always get offers for it. :coolgleam

I'm sure they are worth more, I mean, what's the point of really taking care of it if you're going to give it away? That's still pretty low mileage, and minty.

Spend some time getting to know old cars Ralph. You'd be surprised at the prices of them. The Fleetwood does look nice and does have decent milage on it. Whoever bought it obviously likes them and got a nice car!

I know about depreciation, but maybe I'm not the person to talk to on this. I think an older car in mint shape, esp. a Cadillac should fetch a great price. A Caddy is special, and not just a Chevy with a fancy grille. Especially since new cars are so much. In our local classifieds there is a 1991 Deville, just a Deville with 175,000 kms on it going for 8500! I don't even have one-third that mileage, and I think I was offered a good price and that proves mint=$$$$$. Orig. tires helps the conversation too. ;)

A couple of years ago we were offered $1,500 for the 1980 Phoenix coupe. Reason=great shape, excellent running condition, all service records, no rust, etc. It has a quarter million KMS on it but it was cared for and I think that's the reason. If I ever see another old X-car, they are all rusted, and NEVER taken care of. I call these the forgotten Pontiacs because there won't be any left in a few years. When I see these cars in the paper, they go for $300, the reason, full of rust holes the size of your fist and leaks everything but lemon juice. I know about car values, and depreciation, etc. but I have a different philosophy when it comes down to something more special, like a Caddy, or a Musclecar.
