There are three bolts usu./w inverted torx heads buried deep inside the column. I've done a couple of them, and while it isn't brain surgery,it is time consuming and tedious to do.You have to pull apart about 3/4 of the column to get to the bolts. You need a wheel puller, a lock plate depressor, a tilt column pin puller, because the outer shell that tilts needs to be removed, and some small picks. You basically have to strip it down to the inner shaft to get to the bolts. If you're mechanically inclined, it shouldn't be a problem, but you need those tools and figure on a 1/2 a day to do it if it's your first. thedoc 08-07-04, 05:48 AM i really appreciate the help :worship: ....but im not "inclined" .....how much do you think it would cost me to have it done, assuming that is the problem? (ballpark figure) if you can? barge master 08-08-04, 08:57 AM It doesn't require any parts, but I'd guess the shop labor time is probably around 3-4 hrs. My shop charges $79 per hr. It's a fair amount of work to do the job, there's no shortcut I'm afraid. thedoc 08-09-04, 06:12 AM much thanks | |
