At what milage does the 2001 Catera need a replacement belt? It was replaced under warranty at 6,000 miles as a precautionary measure. It was a recall. My Catera now has 60,000 miles. Am I due for a new belt?

The belt in my 2000 lasted to 112,000 before it jumped a few teeth. I picked it up from that guy and slapped some new heads on it and she runs great.

Don't forget that it is not only a mileage interval, but also a time interval. What year was the recall work done? If you are planning on keeping the car for awhile or putting a lot of miles on it I would say go ahead and do it but if you are unsure of your plans with the car I would put it off a bit longer.

Regular interval for later model Catera's is 100,000 miles regular service, 60,000 miles severe service.

I've seen them go at 60,000 miles. Of course it was also 8 years old.

100,000 miles or 7 years whichever occurs first. :)
