As you may already know, the exotic Italian automaker Ferrari is busy preparing a successor for their last anniversary celebrating halo super car, the Enzo. It only makes sense that the future car will be called the F70 in honor of a 70th anniversary and is promised to be unveiled sometime in 2012. The upcoming F70 would compete head to head with other high end limited edition super cars like the Lamborghini Reventón and Bugatti Veyron. There will only be 399 F70s produced and prices will range in the $1 Million region.

With efficiency high on their list of priorities, Ferrari wants to keep the future F70’s weight to a minimum (1000 kilograms), just like the Millechilli. Now this would be a substantial undertaking for any ordinary automaker, but Ferrari is ready to apply every weight saving technique in their arsenal. While the Enzo was powered by a high revving V12 that made 650 HP, the F70 will use a new direct injection twin turbo V8, quite similar to the legendary F40, with output in the area of 660 HP. This should be enough for the future super car to sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in under three seconds and the F70’s top speed will go up to 230 MPH.

kind of looks like they ripped of the general look of the pagani

The 458 Italia is GORGEOUS! Everyone can agree on that, right? As with any flagship Ferrari, I'm excited, but this one looks funky, at least it conceptual stage. Everything behind the a-pillar looks great, but that front end is too short and sloped IMO.

Looks nice! But no car on the planet is worth 1 million dollars.

Pontiac Banshee concept from '88 or '89. It laid the groundwork for the 4th gen.

In all the pictures Ive seen, the glass cabin section loooks much thicker then the body of the car...I think the proportions are off.

Looks nice! But no car on the planet is worth 1 million dollars.Youve got to be mental to pay a mil for a car simply because its rare. When you can spend 200k on a car and get the highest of technology, theres no rational reason to buy higher. As much as I love the Reventon, paying an extra 500k for a new body and guages, and a limited production number is madness.

You pay that because you can. I think that's the only reason anyone would shell out that kinda jing.

To some people, a million dollars is pocket change. Once you're at that level you pay for exclusivity more than anything else.

I dunno...Im not sure Id could rationalize that. I wouldnt stop thinking things through just because I had billions to blow...

His DD is a Maybach and his wife has a Continental GTC...their wknd cruiser is only a fully loaded SL500 tho...because they like the soft ride maybe? Go figure.

In modern society we have come to a point where "exclusity" is the only criteria for desirability. "Exclusivity" trumps beauty, comfort, usability and even good taste as criteria for desirability of a new psession. One only has to be around the neighborhoods of the very rich to see this fact played out by the artifacts on display.
