Mplsspyder 08-12-04, 06:02 PM Just a quick check on it. '04 Vette wheels should fit on an XLR but XLR wheel might not fit on a Vette. Bolt patterns are the same but the center hub is .2-.3 bigger on the Vette. Hope it helps. standby 12-02-04, 01:50 AM I have 20" chrome deep dish rims on my XLR and it absolutley makes the car. Sorry about the magnetic sign. I was just having fun with the company I work for. Playdrv4me 12-02-04, 02:06 AM I have 20" chrome deep dish rims on my XLR and it absolutley makes the car. Sorry about the magnetic sign. I was just having fun with the company I work for. NOW THATS DIFFERENT! I Love it! I think the current wheels are one of the XLRs semi-weak points. Now... if you put the Wire Mesh XLR Grille on it, youd have the XLR equivolent exterior package to the SL55. I would HIGHLY Recommend getting that grille if its available. Great great looking car. Very well done! standby 12-02-04, 03:14 AM Thank you for the kudo's. I wish I could post another pic of the rear, but for some reason, I can't attach any more pics. I've taken the oval exhaust off and replaced it with stealthy Camaro tips. The longated squared off dual tips go better with the stealthy look of the lXR. I also installed a Plastic wind stopper which straps to the head rests. Makes the ride a bit nicer at 80MPH. You seen to know a great deal about the XLR. Like overiding the DVD, which isn't a very good idea. All the woman will be on the phone and watching their soaps and there will be a lot of XLR parts availablel in the junk yards in Southern Cal. Bob harryctsv 12-02-04, 04:34 AM Hi Standby, IŽll think I put bigger wheels and tires on mine too. What tire size you got on your 20s ? Very nice looking car - good taste! Harry standby 12-02-04, 10:30 PM HI Harry, Without running into the garage and looking, I really don't know. The owner of the agency had these on his LXR and I talked him out of the rims and tires. Everyone I run into says, "what a difference with good looking rims and low profile tires." While I have your attention, did you ever notice the heat around the console in the summer? Cadillac know has a fix. They take out the seats & remove the console cover and put in some reflective space age material which has turned out to be a god sent out here in California. It's a free fix and only takes a day. I also added a deflector that straps on to head rests and makes the wind coming in from the back a little more tolerable. The final touch is the camero square oblong exhaust tips which go with the lines of the XLR. Real easy to find. Those oval tips are really just for the Vette's and ruin the stealthy look of the XLR. Can't wait for the V. I have a standing order in if they make it. Bob harryctsv 12-03-04, 05:05 AM Hi Standby, yes, the head around the console I have also and not only in summer-time. I have he same or even a little more on my vette`s console! In winter-time its not bad, only in summer when I don`t drive with my top`s down ( XLR and Vette) I got the corsa-exhaust on my vette, what you think about to put it on the XLR? The sound of it is great but I think it`s not so good on a luxury-sports-car as the XLR is. So I might put only some nice chrom-tips on which I had on my first C5 which was a 98 coupe. Last monday I was going from my town Kitzingen to Munic thats exactly 250km ( 155 miles) in 1 hour 21 minutes isn`t that a good average speed? Thanks Harry 1SICKLEX 12-09-04, 08:34 PM I think some nice HRE or I-forged, BBS, OZ wheels would be better. Even though the XLR is vette based, I don't think u should put vette wheels on it, though the vette split spokes are nice wheels. I like some aftermarket wheels, but alot of them are also overdone and its hard to find a good match for this kind of car. I think these chromed 5 Spoke Vette wheels look terrific on this car, they might even look good in a matte silver finish. 1SICKLEX 12-15-04, 10:49 PM Why not? Feel me? :coolgleam If you dropped 85k coin on a XLR, just take some time and get some nice wheels. cadillacchromer 12-18-04, 03:26 PM I agree. There are some nice wheels out here standby 12-21-04, 11:32 PM Here's a close up of my 20" rims on my XLR, with Michy sport low profiles..............Question?........It rides like a dream and tracks just a well if not better. harryctsv 12-22-04, 07:05 AM Bob they are real good looking but you still don`t tell me the tire size you got on. I guess it`s 255/35 - 20 - a I right? IŽl put on som similar in march and post spome pics then.
