: 94 Fleetwood LT1 oil pressure switch

I need a new oil prssure switch on the 94 Fleetwood's LT1 engine. I'm not sure which one I need - difficult to see so far down there on the side of the block so I ordered the two I thought it would be - part # Ac Delco 508 D 8143 1/4 inch thread 3 wire fitting or AC Delco 508 D 1849 1/8th inch thread but neither turns out to be the one I need.
Apparrently the oil pressure switch has a large (nearly 3 inch) bell on the end and a single wire fitting. What is this item and part number please?

The switch is leaking out of the wire end and causing false triggers of the orange oil level low light on the dash.

regards & thanks, Nick

oil level sensor is located on the oil pan itself
about 1/2 way up from the bottom
drivers side I believe

fyi thats not a pressure switch, just low level indicator

Steve (?),

Thanks - I didn't realise there were 2 separate switches. It's a large bell shaped thing right? Do you know where I can get one please.

thanks, Nick

Nick, the oil pressure sending switch is usually located just behind the
intake, below the egr valve (that turns on the red "oil" light )
however if I understand the problem is the low oil level light is coming on when there is enough oil in the engine, ??(turns on the low oil level light)
if so then replace the oil level switch, located just above the oilpan drain plug
should have a wire plugged on it
it is just a "float", screws out of the oil pan, if you cant get one there I could hunt you down one, just want to be sure thats the problem as you
described it, ..................Jim

You got it in one! That's exactly the problem. Thanks very much for your offer but Summit had one when I ordered the GF427 fuel filters for the 77. Thanks however for your offer, it's very much appreciated.

I'd like to take you up on your offer of finding a oil level sensor sender for the 94 Fleetwood if I may. I got a note from Summit today and they said that it would be 5th December earliest before they got one in. Kinda a long time!
If you are able to find one without putting yourself to too much trouble (after the holidays) I surely would apprecaite it, especially as it is Thanksgiving tomorrow.
Best regards and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

since it was friday and everything will be closed for a few days
I had to make a call !
so the part has been shipped, I am fairly confident
with the information you provided that you need this
"oil level sensor", it looks similar to the pic I posted, but not exactly
its black and has a longer "float"
anyway I will PM you my paypal address
part was $34.99
shipping was $7.03
paypal fee is like $2, so lets say $44.TTL
let us know when it arrives and gets installed!! Jim
