Hello my name is Ryan glad to finally be apart of this site.
Lets get one thing out of the way, i bought my first catera
in 2004 and it was a 98. had some problems with it but overall
i love catera's. but dec of 2008 the engine started knockin and
ended up blowin a piston through the pan. me and my friends were
jokin around about puttin an old school gen I 350 carb in there.
so we went fabbin and welded in solid mounts and now i have
a 1998 catera th350 trans 350cid with 600 holley. ran 9.81 in 1/8.
1/8 is all we got close to me...... i also bought a 1997 catera for
250 bux with popped timing belt, put my old heads on and its a
cheap beater. and yes i will get pics up soon of the swap i know
some of you would really like to see some details on this.

Quite interesting...

SO now are your gauges functioning? How did you do the wiring on the rest of the car because as I imagine at some point everything was tied together, and now a lot is missing so I imagine your dash is lit up like Christmas tree... either way its probably awesome to see a lumping V8 sound coming out from under the hood of your car.

Any other pictures?

yea im gonna get some more pics today, i tired putting 3 on but only one showed up :hmm:
i took all the power and acc. wires and tied them in to power, i took all the grounds and tied them to ground. used the stock starter wire to fire the starter.
ran my own wires for the alternator (which was a big pain to work out bugs) and used the stock a/c fans to cool a 4.3l blazer radiator. i had the ebtcm out cuz crapped on me a while ago (wierd) and i just never put it back on so no abs. welded the rear diff together and made a driveshaft and she hits 80 mph with no vibration. :cool2: it was a fun project to get the car runnin so i could still drive it and not just scrap it or put the same crappy motor in. i hope maybe some of you like what i did to it...

i actually just noticed i missed a weld on the motor mount eek.. that will be taken care of before its next drive.

i wraped the pass side airbag cover and glovebox and center console and added a cup holder in the center and got rid of the wood grain.
i converted the car to push button start with manual switched fans (for now).
one real tight spot was the header on the driver side gettin close to the steering box but i took it out on a 1 1/2 hour trip to the track at 60mph and no problems anywhere. lemme know what u all think, work on this car will never be finished.....

ohh that alternator might look familiar because its the stock on off the 3.0 decided to keep the factory size alt without spending extra money. the cardboard in the radiator is blocking the couple inches of overhang for the fan shrouds, im gonna make a steel or aluminum plate to cover this.

Welcome. Please post some info about P/S, cooling system and electronics. It all looks OK, but yeah, you're going to be working on this thing to make it right for a LONG time.
Just wait til I'm done with my carbureted 383 :lildevil:

I used the stock p/s pump from the 350 and had a line made to connect it to the catera gearbox, now i couldnt find anyone that could duplicate the catera factory end so i hacked off the factory line and had it fitted to a hydraulic line. the return line is simple slide on and hose clamp. cooling is blazer 4.3l radiator (started with catera one but it couldnt hack it... wierd..) and the factory a/c fans mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through the front. cools the 350 very very well. electronics is putting power to the wires that need power for the factory crap and hooked all 3 wires up to the motor for it to run. still got some gauge worries and gonna put a fuel cell in it so i can have a fuel gauge.
