Those are the only non-leather seats I'll ever be jealous of... lacmang 08-21-04, 02:21 PM Has anyone ever seen one with the leather option? The leather option for the Talisman was almost $3000! I still haven't seen one with it. Sandy 08-21-04, 05:07 PM I've seen 2. Both in blue. One a silver car, the other dark blue. Silver car had Astroroof, as well. luddyludwick 08-21-04, 05:33 PM What is the power like on the '74-'76's? I'm just wondering if the 500 was so smog choked by that time that it's like having nothing under the hood. I do like the cloth...it is a great looking car; especially the body-color disks. Those don't work as well on the '80s models, IMO, but on that Talisman, they look great. Bruce Sandy 08-21-04, 09:23 PM I believe that they were black centers, not body colored. luddyludwick 08-22-04, 03:17 PM yeah, I'm stupid...hehe...and color blind! barge master 08-22-04, 09:32 PM What made the Talisman so special? I've heard of them but I don't know what's different about them. davesdeville 08-23-04, 03:23 AM From what I can tell, the interior is the special part. It's all poofy and comfortable, plus the rear center console is padded and has a little writing place in it. Sandy 08-23-04, 09:06 AM It had a very unique interior. Very plush. Looked like some sort of French Bordeaux!! ;) ~ Front & Rear Consoles (1974 only on the rear one), the consoles were wrapped in velvet/velour (I forget which), real thick carpeting, and inside the consoles vanity mirrors and writing pads and space for a telephone and more. Special pivitol reading lamps, and tons of other little touches. It was VERY expensive package! They showed in it the brochure in this velvet/velour cloth and never mentioned leather. However, leather was an add'l. option, but seldom seen. I've seen only 1 with leather - and THAT one was on e-bay. It was back for 1975 & 1976, but with a full width bench seat in the rear, as Caddy felt the ultra low numbers (sales) were due to it's huge exterior size, and ability to carry only 4 people, thusly the rear console was gone for '76/'76 and the MSRLP of the package dropped. On the exterior were special "Talisman" emblems and unique wheel covers. barge master 08-23-04, 09:37 PM That sounds like a wicked cool car to get a hold of. Even if you found a rot box, the interior would be worth salvaging. The only thing I don't like about that vintage Fleetwood is they don't have that little triangular 1/4 window. That was always my favorite feature of that vintage GM. | |
