Don't bother to read this if you never make mistakes or do dumb things when you are in a hurry.
When I brought the SRX home one of the first things I checked was whether or not I could open the hatch in my garage without hitting the door or the cement lintel for the door. The answer is nope can't do it. If I do, the door would hit the bottom of the garage door and the edge of the concrete lintel at about the same time.
Since then I have opened the door a couple of times in the garage and always threw a towel in between the SRX rear hatch and my garage hazards. I just saw another SRX with scratches that makes me believe he/she learned this the hard way.
To date, no problems. But, I will probably put some some Llumar film in the exposed area because this is one of those things that you just know will happen sooner or later and I don't want unwanted designs carved into my Diamond White finish.
I suppose I could adjust the garage door to not open all the way and the cargo door would then bottom out on the rubber garage door seal but then that would be the easy way wouldn't it.
