Every now and then at night the High Beams will engage by themselves, has anyone else heard of this before?

Yep. it's called "intellibeam". It's a feature that comes with the Escalade unless you purchased a 2010. They will turn on high-beams under low light areas and then self dim with on-comming traffic.

BTW, the feature can be disabled if you'd like, read up in your owner's manual.

i think if you want to disable that feature the auto button is located on the rear view mirror

To disable the feature just take the beam selector switch off "Auto".

Also, to disable the feature, turn on the fog light.

Huh, very weird. It never used to turn on before and recently in the neighborhood it will sporadically go from high to low. I'll check it out more closely.

I have not heard of this feature being removed, I know they are removing the rain sensing wipers.

Sorry... I got the two confused somehow. I'm just glad I grabbed an 09.

Don't scare me like that, they are taking away enough things. :(
