I am currently waiting on a PAC OEM-2, but I don't know if I made the right purchase. I have a '00 DTS with the factory amplified 8-speaker system. #1) Does the OEM-2 only install before the amp or can it be installed afterwards? If it's before the amp, I want to make sure it can convert the digital signals for volume or am I stuck with a single volume setting. The OEM-2 will be going to an amplifier that's going to power a couple of subs.

I know a lot of you have probably thought it, but I will say it. How about we start with a pic of that DTS of yours as your avitar. I mean your LHS is nice but on Caddyforums? Hell, take a pic of both.

When I can get a pic of the DTS at as good an angle as the LHS, I'll change the pic. I haven't even had time to get ANY pics yet. Maybe this weekend. Until then... :)
Now, back to the OEM-2. Anyone have any info for me?

I did, but I didn't see anything that answered my particular question. I just got the unit in the mail yesterday so I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks when I get time to play with it. If not, I'll just opt for line converters and a remote trigger. I guess, I'll see when the time comes. Thanks.
If you install the PAC OEM inputs on the input side of the AMP you may have a problem with no volume control.
I have a thread in this forum called Operation Basslink... I have the wiring diagram in the thread that I used on a '04 CTS. The inputs of the PAC OEM-2 were wired to the output of the factory AMP. I have volume control and bass control as normal at my factory radio for the sub.
You'll have to get the specifics for your vehicle... but hooking up to the output worked for me.

I followed that thread. I've decided to go ahead and hook it up to the output side of the factory amp. And since the OEM-2 has all 4 channels, I should also still keep those left-front warning chimes in tact.
Thanks for the post.

I bought the OEM-2 for my 99 STS, It won't work on the pre-amp side, but I used it on the output side just so I wouldn't overdrive my crossover and subwoofer amp. If your car uses a data bus to the amp it won't work pre-amp.

I know. I've already decided to install it post-amp because the volume wouldn't be adjustable and putting it post-amp should allow me to keep my warning chimes.
