So I've had my '05 for a few weeks now, and there's a few features that my 10 year old STS has that I'm shocked an '05 Escalade doesn't have!
I'm not sure if it's because the key isn't programmed right, but when using the different fobs, it doesn't go to the other settings. Like the seat doesn't move forward when my short wife goes to drive it, she has to push the "2" button on the door.
I also wish it had the rainsense wipers! Adjusting the wiper speed manually is just too hard for me! :histeric: But the rainsense is nice! :)
And when starting it, I'm so used to starting my STS by a quick turn of the key, instead of having to hold it down with the Escalade. WTF? I thought all newer vehicles had that?
The auto volume control also seems to reduce the volume too much when you come to a stop. I'm sure there's no way to adjust it.
Other than these little quirks I really like my Escalade.

Glad you like it though. Getting mines very soon. Any mods planned for yours?

No mods, it's a family truckster. My STS is the one with the mods!

Also, why doesn't the Escalade have power tilt and telescoping steering wheel?

Memory seat and mirror recall should work with the factory remotes, if the feature is enabled in the menu.

I just took my 06 to the dealership and they told me my 'lade wasn't programed for memory recall with the key fob. Said it was an option and mine must not have it. Just letting you know. Your 'lade may not have it either.

I do not have an option for it in the menu either. Only option I have is easy exit. I think it's stupid to have easy exit and not have the seat automatically return with the key fob.

The seat exit option is the only one I saw on the menu. :bigroll:

I had this situation happen a few times in my 02, where the menu would not show all the options. So far, the only way I can get to access all the features is key off, with the rap on to the menu control center. Maybe I was lucky. Have a look in your owners manual to see if the feature is optional.

I think 04 was the last year that came standard on our style Escalades.
Makes no sense.

The most important feature missing from the Escalade for me is the lack of heated side mirrors! Big pain in the butt come winter...

^^ What? I thought my 2001 Tahoe had heated side mirrors, am I remembering incorrectly.

And just so you know, my 07 lade does not have power tilt/telescope wheel or auto express up windows. Two features that my 8 year old SLS have that I am particularly fond of. 08+ added the express up windows and a power tilt, but not telescoping wheel.

My 05 has heated side mirrors

My 03 has heated mirrors too.... I'm pretty sure all 2nd gen Escalades have em (dont know about the 02's). There is no heat symbol on the mirror like most other cars with heated mirrors, so maybe thats why he's confused. Read the owners manual to find out where your button is located. On my EXT the button is right on the electronic climate control box.... im sure everyone else's should be in the same spot.

Heated mirrors go on when rear defroster is on, if equipped with heated mirrors . There is not a separate button as far as I know. The rear defroster button is the button. I just confirmed my neighbor's 02 Tahoe has heated mirrors, so all 2nd generation Lades must too.

Yup, I just checked. Theres a button on my EXT for both the rear window defroster and heated mirrors.
