I need help. It's cold out and I don't have heat. I searched first but did not find any help.

My HVAC is not working. No fan at all. Worked one day, not the next. Checked all the fuses under the hood and they all seem fine.

Any suggestions?

2006 DTS with 28K miles.

I am "ASSUMING" that all the controls on the dash are lit up and "APPEAR" to be working and just the fan is not blowing.

There is another fuse box "UNDER" the back seat...by the battery.

I do not know which fuse box the fuses for the blower are in.

That is real low mileage for a 2006.
Is it still under the 4 year / 50,000 mile warranty?
You may have to take it to the dealer.

As for the fuse box locations....

Yes, everything does light up. Just no fan.

I had no idea there was a fuse box under the rear seat. I will check that next. I did test the fan. No power to the fan so I'm hoping it is a fuse. Otherwise it is in the control unit.

I thought the warranty was 3/36K. If you are right then I should be covered. That would be great, but not my luck.

Thanks for the help.

You may get lucky today.
The warranty on the Cadillac is 4 years from the original in-service date or 50,000 miles...whichever comes first.

Unless it was bought real early in the model year..in 2005...it is still under BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty.

Stop by your local dealer and they can run the VIN and tell you the exact dates.

Man I hope so.

I found the blwr fuse in the rear fuse box. It was fine, so my problem must be either the control unit or something to do with the computer.

One other thing you could try...
Disconnect "BOTH" battery cables...negative first, of course.

Then touch the ends of the cables together for a few seconds.
This will discharge all the capacitors in the system and cause several systems todo a reset.
If it is a confused control unit, it might fix it.

I still need help.

I tried everything and so far no luck.

The fuses are fine. The wiring is fine. The controls light up. The blower itself works (I put power to it directly from a battery).

So there must be something I'm missing. Is there a resister? If so where is it?

Have you checked to see if it is still under the 4 year warranty?
