Ive been thinking about swapping out all of my speakers and put in place ether Type r or Type X alpine speakers with a Rockford Fosgate T-400 or P-300 with a 10 or 12' Fosgate woofer.
Is the bose system really all the bad, back in the day yea but now they are in Nissans. Also I really just wanted to put some more base but the bose amp isnt the best.
What do you cadillac owners think about this set up, Ive heard the alpine with fosgate well be the best set up?

Thanks, Eskilade

Did some more research and found out what i already thought, that our stock Bose speakers or not high quality.
Seems that we all paid for the Bose name, but for most people they will never complain. The problem with Bose speakers is that most of them are 1 or 2 ohm making it impossible to add a better amp. With out a better AMP its almost impossible to add a good woofer and if u do mostly like not going to be the best Quality if u bypass it. I'm not a pro at speakers and im just learning more but I do want better quality.
Looks like if you want to add a woofer or a new amp throw out your Bose.

Also has any one on these forums add alpine speakers to there escalade?

I've almost got a full alpine system in my car. When i bought the car it had a jl 300/4 hooked up to the stock speakers and it worked fine. I recently put in type x's and a 12 inch type r in the back powered by an 1800w kenwood. Swapping out the speakers would be best. If you look on ebay you can get them for a decent price. Good luck with everything.

i have all stock bose even the radio and i had 2 12's put in the back of my car and they slam so you can put an aftermarket subwoofer to the factory bose system and it will still sound good because think about it you have to replace everything in the system and there are something like 13 speakers in the system thats alot of speakers and money to dump into a car. But i mean if you want to spend the money and you are keeping the car long term go for it

Thanks for the info.
I was searching on the internet and most forums said to scrap it. Glade to see their is no problems with just adding a woofer, but did you all run your bass through the factory amp.
Also bpc87, you are right about it only being worth it if this is a long term car and i almost have eighty thousand miles.

I have heard better systems than our bose but not many, why has their been negative talk about bose? Buddies Maserati has a Bose system.
