I had noticed a small puddle of antifreeze under my 06' STS a couple days ago. I tried to find the leak, thinking it might have been a radiator hose, but the leak did not appear to be a hose, so yesterday I called Montrose Cadillac in Greenville, Pa and set up a visit. They confirmed that the water pump was bad, and it would cost me a little over $600 to repair. Needless to say, my blood pressure went thru the roof, as I was assuming I had a warranty on this car. (It has about 52,000 miles on it now). The lady told me there was no warranty showing on the computer, so this would not be covered by Cadillac. I got quite excitable, and told her I should have the Certified Pre-owned warranty. Well, long story short...come to find out, the dealer I purchased the car from had put the warranty info in the wrong section of Cadillac's owner info sheet. The lady dug deeper, and did find out that I did have the CPO warranty, and told me not to worry, the repairs were covered. Whew!!! It took me the rest of the day to calm back down, but I was VERY happy to pick my car up and have a balance due of $0.00!!! So Kudo's to Montrose for taking the time to dig deeper, and being patient with me in my excited state. Their workmanship was excellent as well.

As I picked up my car from its recent pre-warranty-expiration visit (approaching 47,000 miles), a lady started going ballistic over a $1,000 labor charge for whatever work they performed on her car. They tossed me my keys and said they'd mail the paperwork - no charge.
I win. Today.

One of the factors that swayed me to go ahead and buy this car, was the Certified Pre-owned Cadillac warranty. I had heard that it was about as good as you would find on a used car, and with all the electronics, and other gadgetry on this "cross between a space shuttle and a car", I would not have made the buy without it.

DITTO and my dealer has been great about fixing things. Never a hassle!:duck:

The same thing happened to me when I bought my STS.
About five days or so after I took delivery of it I noticed a puddle f pink antifreeze. Ended up being the water pump leaking out of some bolt. They fixed it for free.

I didn't think to ask the dealer, but I wonder if the water pump is the same style as my 97 STS NorthStar was? I changed it myself, with the stupid special tool that is required. Took around 2 hrs. to replace.
