| View Full Version : Need data for 2003 STS heated seat repair johngmorrison1945 11-05-09, 05:37 PM Drivers side heated seat function not working. Fuse is good. iowasevillests 11-13-09, 03:58 PM Most likely its the heater element in the seat. Use the search feature its been documented many times, but the quick and dirty is that the wire breaks, opening the circuit. Pull the seat cushion out, pull the leather off and you should see a burn mark in the seat padding, dig around a bit and you should find 2 small gauge wires with burnt ends....there is your problem. You can either cut the ends back and solder back together or replace the entire element, you can find the element on gmpartsdirect.com I believe. Press the seat heater button in HIGH. Listen down at the lower front opening under the seat. Do you hear a tick every 4 - 10 seconds ?? If so, heater wire burned. Use Mark C's info and either take it to a dealer or remove the seat and DIY. Takes some doing, but needs a few magic words and socket wrench work. The seat pad kits are dealer only as posted at www.gmpartsdirect.com, www.gmotors.com, or call Luke in Parts at Lindsay Cadillac over there >>>>> M-F 9-5 EST. chubbyranger 11-13-09, 11:28 PM www.turbojimmy.com There's a great how-to on heated seat element repair.
