Thanks , like to use it as opposed to my Snap on engine diagnostics tool some times . like on the highway, getting engine temps, tach, anything on there about computing fuel milage, currently do it the old fashon way, ( math in head), even after ensuring tires proper, new plugs, o2 sensors & clean filters still getting 23mpg on the highway doing 60 on the cruise & outside air at 60 +, any clues to get this car up to what i get in my 94 roadmaster sedan. Which Gets 25-28 under similar driving conditions, Does 93 Octane improve milage!? even after 3 tank fulls.

23 to 25 is pretty close. Remember the other discussion about the weight of the Fleetwood over the RM.

I would assume 93 octane wouldn't do much, if anything, for your car because it was intended to run on 87.

yes i remember, still trying to eak out best milage on this car, the tach, will help to even out acceleration, & may improve still some will see on this drive home today, 600 miles. out of full tank getting 540-560 miles. what do those other addresses on the climate control indicate...

Uhh... I know one of them is engine temp, and some other stuff. Check the RWD FAQ thread and watch the video that's there. It's done on a Buick, but the codes he mentions are the same for the Fleetwood I believe.

also noted in drives on the climate contol, rpm at 60 mph at 1,400, & engine temp at 178-180 deg.

Sounds normal. Your thermostat is 180 F.

okay drove the distance home over weekend 1200 miles in total, most of the time hitting 75mph, just for looks to see what milage would be, held at 23 same as at 60, air temp at 50-24, nothing new there, so on retun leg of trip daytime was at 70+ , hoding speed around 75mph, fuel consumption was 26-27, only thing added to fuel, 87 octane , Lucas fuel treatment, rec dose. so it seems all in order, strange my Roadmaster with mech cooling fan, runs 5-6 deg cooler at same engine rpm & speed. Still like to get better milage out of these cars, like 35-40mpg, Am impressed at this time, who wouldn't be, your moving 2t of car down the road in comfort, which is paramount on drives i do, plus the distance one can go between fuelings. Actually they are one two cars in Gm 's stable of products I liked, for fuel consumption, ease of repair, reliability, cost of repair, All others at Cadilliac, hate to say it ,but over expensive, & over tech, face it your getting that tech & having trouble, I'd rather have a Mercedes, Or Lancia. Buick other models were not impressive in the afor mentioned, Their 3.8l engine & trans axle are their best points. Chev, ha! The rwd impalaa & cAPRICE ARE GOOD

If ANYONE finds a way to squeeze 40 MPG out of a Fleetwood, I salute them. lol

Well there you go, accomplish that feat & they'll all take notice of this fine auto, last of a dying breed. They didn't invest anymore money in them as 4 by's more profitable to cover costs. But what the public really wants is a family car thats fuel efficent 40mpg+ Still impredded with the B bodies, mine will probabbbly get sold to customizers when this completly electric car hits the streets, along with parts & places to plug in show up, I'd SAY ABOUT 2015. These cars should last me till then , then they qualify for Antique plates!!!
