Hi everybody.

I finally purchased through ebay (workforyou24h) a couple of items to deal with my OBD2 data port.

U581 Code Reader
http://www.memoscan.cn/en/showproducts.asp?Cid=10

This one is for the direct check of the error codes and works fine.
My 2004 CTS (LY9 engine) is under KWP2000 protocol instead of CanBus but it reads the codes anyway.

ELM327 Bluetooth Interface

With this one I intend to check the info in my carputer and pc, using some useful tools that I can offer you for free (see attached).

Acceleration Timer, to know how fast yo do the 0-60 mph.

OBD Manufacturere Database, to know the meaning of the error codes given by your car.

DashCommand Lite, reduced version to show you some information, including GT-R style gauges.

PCMScan, the complete tool to know what's going on. Includes those GT-R gauges and allows you to perform dyno tests. Don't miss it.

In return, I need someone to provide feedback for the AUTERRA stuff:

DynoScan at 219.99 $

S-201 GM enhanced OBDII Software at 49.99 $

Any experience with those tools?
According to their webpage, the GM software is the best option if you want to avoid visiting the Cadillac dealer for service.

looks like you are getting more than a code reader... lol
what do you really plan to do with all this info? does it allow you to tune the cts? i dont think it will.
some damn cool features these products have...good finds

If you have a suitable OBD2 interface to connect the car to your PC all that software will work with any car any place. The CTS might be under KWP2000 or CanBus (most of the cases) protocol. Just be sure yours can read those two before purchasing.

Talking about tuning the CTS, it's far beyond my skills and I don't think anybody in Spain will have the ECU map for any american car. They are focused on european brands like BMW, VW, Seat, etc ...
Besides that, my V6 2.6 was not sold in the USA so I guess any tuning research will be for the 3.2 or 3.6 and probably not applicable to my car :(.
Last but not least, you cannot get a good improvement from an atmospheric engine so the gain is not worth enough to put some time and money on that.

Another funny tool to play with is the CarTest.

http://www.cartestsoftware.com/cartest4.5/index.html

It's a MS-DOS executable that allowes you to enter the info of your car (it offers some Caddys already) and then to perform different calculations, comparations with other cars, time laps around several race tracks, acceleration 0-60 mph, etc ...

20 minutes of fun for free.

And I thought I am the only one with the LY9-engine. BTW: itīs basically the same engine as the 3.2V6. So if you are looking for some tuning you should look for the 3.2 not the 3.6.
