Ok heres the problem,

i have a 2005 CTS 3.6L

I do not have XM or Bose

But i want to hook my iPod to the radio without a fail FM transmitter or Modulator.

I have been told if i plug in the XM modulator i can get the XM stations then use a kit for that. I have also been told that plugging it in will not work...

I would love to do the double DIN kit that leaves the DIC but i don't have the skill to do it and every local sound shop doesn't wanna touch it.

So what are my options??

I heard somewhere that the DIC can be redirected to the Odometer display. Any truth to that?

please help me guys i really need this i drive alot and can't stand the radio

Thanks!

The double din fabrication would be a hell of a lot easier than routing the DIC to the odometer display. Get a back-up radio off ebay and do the double din, wire it yourself, it is easy.

A Audio installer will be more comfortable knowing that they won't be liable for damages (especially if you end up not liking it) if you have a back up like mjs0202 said. Bring them a few pics/guide from users who completed the double din project.

If you don't want to mess with all of that. You can have them install a cleansweep.

Thats whats up, guys.

Appreciate the input.

I guess i might look into buying a factory unit and start working on it at my desk rather than using the one that works now.

Thanks again and if anyone else has any ideas please let me know!

Hello all! I am hoping you can help me.. I am having an issue with my 03 CTS.. the car has no power whatsoever.. sunday this happened so we jump started it and it immediately cranked up.. later on that day it was dead again.. we replaced the battery and it seemed to be fine .. however now it has no power again.. could this be the alternator?

cadmom...that definitely sounds like a bad alternator to me if you changed the battery already...

Just get an FM transmitter...the $80 you spend is a lot better than the radio.

And cadmom...you have a bad battery...that'll be a one hour diagnostic fee please. ;)

i don't own this but maybe someone who does can chime in with their experience of how it works. it's the GMOS-10 harness (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12907_Axxess+GMOS-10.html?gclid=COq55OqL9p0CFdA65QodwkZ8qA) which allows you to connect an aftermarket radio. i'm almost sure that it has RCA input plugs allowing you to connect "anything" - The only disadvantage (i think) is that your steering wheel volume jog-wheel won't work anymore - however - there's an additional harness for that also and i believe the same store sells it. Here's the basic installation manual (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pdf/metra/met-gmos10.pdf)to the product.

Hope this helps. If you decide to get it, please share the results here. Thanks

You can install a cleansweep or a GMOS-10. both will add an aux input. The cleansweep may be a little bit of overkill for what you want

although it costs about 300 bucks, the parrot mki9200 will virtually seemlessly insert your IPOD and any other MP3 player in to your factory radio as well as provide you with bluetooth capability. it also charges your IPOD. i installed one in my car and it works flawlessly. it has a little lcd display that i stuck in to the ashtray so that i can close it when i'm out of the vehicle so everything appears to be stock. i didn't mount the remote to the steering wheel and just stick that in the console when i'm gone as well. excellent sound quality and bluetooth integration.

I just successfully did the XM-input mod to my CTS. My zune sounds fantastic through the CTS' speakers.

Lupin... Was you radio XM enable before you installed the kit???
