Does anybody have any opinions when it comes to balancing tires? (Regular vs road forced?) Any advantages or disadvantages with one over the other?

Any advantages or disadvantages with one over the other? tommy compton 11-03-09, 05:31 PM Road force works extremely well for rims that are difficult to balance in the traditional methods. I had a set or rims that any method other than road force couldn't correct. Works well for aftermarket rims where you want less visible weights and can't put weights on the outside surface of the rim. It is a better more efficient way of balancing IMHO. BadAV 11-03-09, 07:03 PM It's a much better method of balancing. It works especially well on larger wheel/tire combinations like the 32" tall 20s on my Avalanche. It should also work better in theory for wheels that use hub-centric rings. bpcorliss 11-11-09, 10:04 AM I am a supporter of the Road Force instead of just balancing. For example, my tires balanced just fine but still had vibrations on the car. When I checked them using a Hunter Road Force machine I found that my rims had run-out that was beyond spec. Though the tires balanced, there was still the effect of wheels that were not ture. Also, when I bought my winter tires, I found one that had a bad side-wall. It balanced correctly but would have never ran true. Tire-Rack replaced the tire with no questions and even covered the return shipping. That is my $0.02 (Canadian). z06bigbird 11-12-09, 01:15 AM I am a supporter of the Road Force instead of just balancing. For example, my tires balanced just fine but still had vibrations on the car.
