This has happened to me a couple of times. The Park Assist starts chiming, even though there is nothing behind me. I get a message indicating that the Park Assist is off and I can't turn it back on. After a couple of days everything is back to normal. This happen to anyone else?

Is there a trailer hitch interfering your park assist? If not, did you try to clean the sensors?

No hitch and the sensors are clean. It was down for a day and now working fine. No rhyme or reason.

This happened to me once on our '09 CTS and our '08 SRX mid-winter last year and I've never seen the problem since.

I had a problem with the connectors/harness for the park assist. The bad connection in the harness caused the parkassist to work only occasionally. It is fairly easy to see harness if you look underneath the car where the bumper meets the frame. the harness is just next to the harness for the taillights.
