It could be just the compressor is frozen and the motor has burnt up. It should only take about 10 minutes (1 hr. book time) to replace the compressor. However, if it is a wiring issue then you will have to pay them for all the diagnostic work. That is where a shop makes their money, diagnostics. The going rate around me for diagnostic work is anywhere from $120 an hour to $160 an hour. submariner409 11-03-09, 09:52 AM Depending on the car the compressor unit (compressor/filter-dryer, and exhaust solenoid) is around $400 (discount), $560 otherwise, with the hour to hour and a half of service time. mikeman711 11-03-09, 10:16 AM i did lift the car and was looking aroud a bit and i noticed the compressor and the some of the rubber lines were broke so i am going to try to remove today does anyone know if autozone or advanced auto parts or orelys would check the pump dirt_cheap_fleetwood 11-03-09, 11:47 AM I can't remember, when did the move the pump to the trunk? I know on my Brougham and my old '88 I could get the pump out in minutes because it was in an open area under the hood. mikeman711 11-03-09, 04:51 PM it is under the car near the trunk | |
